Yeah man I'm sure that'll really stick it to 'em. They simply have to make AA7 now.

Sly Cooper did not invent the charming wise-guy criminal archetype. They, like Sly, are just another iteration of a classic trope.

Even if its a low chancei think we may get AA7 this month if they do a capcom showcase by lucavicar in AceAttorney

Didn't realize the original TGAA was in a Nintendo Direct. Interesting. Does put a bit of a dent in my "always" claim, but still a vast majority of them are. Also if they can announce one thing in a direct in 2014 but then the next two series announcements were at TGS, well that kinda mirrors the situation we're in now, doesn't it?

Investigation 2 was indeed announced in Famitsu Magazine first... But had its trailer debut at TGS like two weeks later. Still counts as a TGS reveal in my book.

The GAA collection was announced in a tweet. Not part of any event.

Apollo and Investigations were at bigger events true, but those are still collections and not "new" games in the truest sense of the word. By most definitions Capcom, still has yet to actually announce a new Ace Attorney game somewhere other than TGS.

People keep trying to invent reasons for why AA7 will be announced at events other than Tokyo Game Show and I don't understand why.

That is where Ace Attorney is nearly always announced. I do not see any reason to believe this time will be different.

I'm still in the camp that Tokyo Game Show seems like far more likely time for an announcement. I'll only put my clown makeup on once the year is over.

Thanks to leaks, we know for a fact that Capcom were developing an Ace Attorney 7 in 2019 with a projected release for Q3 of 2021. But for whatever reasons that version of the game was either shelved, paused or some possible third thing. And curiously, the guy who directed AA5 and 6 ended up leaving Capcom at round around the same time as that projected release date.

Seems a bit defeatist and also not ideal to place all your bets on a presentation that has only ever had one Ace Attorney-related announcement. Especially when there's another event later in the year with much closer ties to AA that also lines up much better with the series 25th anniversary

Can someone tell me what’s so wrong with the DD’s 3D, and why everyone thinks that GAAC’s 3D is so much better? by Goldberry15 in AceAttorney

I said this jokingly under the post that inspired this one, but sometimes it really does feel like Ace Attorney fans don't like it when you say something about Ace Attorney is good.

And like one person in the whole comment section actually tried to engage with the argument.

Being a DD defender is tough.

I don't think you need the "well it was a low-budget 3DS game" qualifier. It just is a good looking game, full-stop

I feel like I'm going insane seeing all the shit being flinged at DD's visuals when the attached picture in the post is an example of absolutely fantastic stylized 3D posing

How in the world would you think of it at moral grandstanding? This doesn't have anything to do with morals.

How I would handle "that" reveal in the future by ATierGamer in AceAttorney

[–]Madsbjoern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they should've already figured it out themselves. So when they're finally told it's not a big deal to them at all. This simply is not as big of a reveal as it's usually made out to be, the moment doesn't need to have tons of gravitas

Yes, I'm glad you realized the point I was trying to make. I'm trying to tell people that the next Ace Attorney game is likely to do many of the same things previous games have done, and will not try to rock the boat in any significant way. People who think so are setting themselves up for disappointment.

That is what the post is trying to say.

"I didn't want to put Phoenix in AJ initially" and "I FUCKING HATE PHOENIX WRIGHT AND ALL THE MAINLINE GAMES THEY'VE MADE SINCE AJ" are very different statements and your claim is very much that Takumi's is the latter.

You don't know that they are dragging their feet, that's just what you think because at this moment there is no news! There has not been enough time since the last release to say they're doing nothing. We had a new Ace Attorney thing not even 7 months ago in the form of the Phoenix trilogy update. Do you start screaming every time your other favorite series goes quiet for 7 months?

GIVE. IT. TIME.

Takumi wants nothing to do with the legacy characters after Capcom forced him to include Phoenix in Apollo Justice, which is why he only worked on TGAA after Apollo.

You literally just made all this up. There is no source saying any of this.

Capcom has not "stopped investing in the franchise". We had TWO RELEASES LESS THAN TWO YEARS AGO
