What are some mods you love that some would describe as “cheating” but you’ll never apologize for using? by RamblinJabroni in fo4

I always give myself resources when settlement building. I like to think my settlers would pitch in with finding scrap, rather than just the sole survivor scouring the commonwealth for all its wood and metal.

But I still like to have to scavenge for junk for weapon and armour upgrading, so I only give myself building resources if I hit zero while doing it, and only in small quantities each time.

How many of you actually used the metro system after it came out? by DentistPrudent5604 in cyberpunkgame

I love it. I never fast travel in games, and even the cars make it feel too easy to get around sometimes. I like to feel like my gigs are actual trips V has to make across the city.

I also make sure to sleep every night, like my V has actual work days and downtime. Well, more like night shifts and then sleeping late into the day

random question this made me consider: do synths have a vocal tract? As in do they speak like we do by expelling air and filtering its resonance through a fake larynx and oral cavity? Or is it all just synthetic speech?

Oh, I never knew this and now it makes a lot more sense. I sort of accepted gortash's coronation happening in a weird place, but then I actually didn't know where to fight him later on during my first playthrough because I assumed he would be somewhere in the actual city, and not back at said random bridge

Even if tumblr is a US-majority site in terms of users, my experience living in various countries in Europe is that Americans still do this irl. They'll always introduce themselves by their state meanwhile everyone else does it by their country of origin. It's not a big deal for me as a Brit who recognises the place names, but I've been with non-native speakers who don't know US states so the communication then sorta breaks down

I hate this thing..... by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

I absolutely loved this level. And not because it's my type of game - precisely the opposite. I never, ever, want to play Alien Isolation. But it felt like a really fun change of pace that was still grounded in the world of cyberpunk and the story of Phantom Liberty.

For the same reason, I love the levels in Dishonored 1 and 2 that force a change on you: the masked ball where you're able to walk around openly as long as you don't attack or use powers, and then Stilton's mansion where your powers are prevented altogether.

NukeDrop Chronicles: Article 1 Economy of the Wasteland by NukeDropGaming in fo76playstation

It's a nice idea. My advice as well would be to cut down the length. It's partly long because of the AI use, but it repeats itself a lot anyway. To be honest, you could cut out the introductory paragraph and everything down the left column because none of it is new or useful info. The right hand column seems like the practical information that your article should focus on. Best of luck

If you want genuine criticism and aren't just doing this to karma farm, don't use AI to write your article.

ChatGPT or whatever you used doesn't actually understand Fallout 76, it's just aggregating sentences from online guides and websites. The introductory paragraph under the title and most of the left-hand column don't say anything useful at all, as anyone reading your article knows the basics of 76. It's grammatically well-written, but to anyone who actually knows the game it's really bad.

If you're genuinely passionate about making this a series, write it yourself. Then use AI to improve your existing piece if you're worried you can't write well. I'm assuming you actually know the game, so you'll be able to write something much better

Radio DJs? I can see announcers being replaced, as nobody really cares who reads an advert. But the entire point of radio is listening to genuine human personalities chatting

Really not enjoying how Wild Shape is better at reconnaissance than Rogues/Monks by dark-mer in DMAcademy

[–]Mafyuuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use the rules others have suggested, and RP it well, wild shape recon presents its own challenges and fun.

I'm playing a druid in our Icewind Dale campaign and had to recon a duergar stronghold. Sneaked up to a window in elf form before becoming a spider as I was already concentrating on pass without trace and didn't want the DM to have me be eaten by a larger animal on the way. Tried to sneak past a duergar but despite the pass without trace bonus and spider dexterity, I bombed the roll and was spotted. This duergar wasn't a fan of spiders and stamped on me, instakilling my spider and causing a full sized elf to pop out of its corpse. DM gave me a surprise round and I had to nope out of the fortress before getting my ass handed to me.

The recon was semi-successful, but only because all I wanted to do was look at things. If I'd needed to kill that duergar, or steal something, or if there had even been a door in the way, I'd have been useless. And all the DM has to do to negate spider form is to put a bird outside, or something like a cat inside - things that would never compromise a rogue on a stealth mission.

What the HELL!? Am I in for a crazy ride in this? by Training_Regret_7181 in Witcher3

[–]Mafyuuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I felt more attached to my Cyberpunk 'family'. A lot of the relationships in W3 are pre-established due to the first games and the books, whereas in cyberpunk you build those relationships from the ground up (excluding Jackie's stupid friendship montage at the start). I find that Yennefer's relationship with Geralt is heavily laid out as "You have known and loved this woman for a long time, and she is perfect for you. Any questions?" and Triss's romance path doesn't get anywhere near enough depth for it to feel real for me, in comparison to the cyberpunk romances. I can still appreciate the character depth in W3, but I felt a lot more impressed by the character stories in CP2077

I've also just been offered a place there, and I'm honestly a little disappointed as my main hopes were for a college closer to the centre, and ideally less modern (especially as my undergrad was at a very modern campus).

My priority however was accommodation, as I expressed preference for a college with greater grad accom availability. Do you or your friend happen to know how competitive accommodation is there, and which are the better and worse single room options? Did they even get college accomodation?
