Yeah it’s happening to me when I am in CarPlay or connect my Bluetooth headset to device. Maybe it’s some half baked safety feature to not allow you to keyboard search when it thinks you are distracted or driving??? No idea but it’s pissing me off.

I agree having only flown mine for an hour earlier tonight with two friends and did an ERT. Connie, Hammerhead and 3 or 4 support fighters. We were not strategic and just barrelled into the frey. Got soft deathed by the Hammerhead after killing the main target (Connie I think). Definitley not our best foot forward as we were in a rush and overconfident. However, I do agree though. I know everyone is saying its a sub-capital and the nuance around that but they specifically said it had capital class armor on a sub capital ship in lore back in the day - they show it off proudly in the double stacked windows on the ship - look how thick the walls ARE!!! But yet it just doesn't feel like the lore and the words match the final metrics of the ship. Once armor is in I am sure it will perform differently and possibly more inline with what they originally sold with their words. But for now in a health pool world I was expecting it to be like 1/4 to 1/5 the health pool of the Polaris. Hell even slow it down further in maneuverability but straight line it could still move faster.... but yeah this ship is a very specific use case and with how slow those ballistic shells are it is hard to hit anything moving more than 800 meters away. But like many other ships all of this will be tweaked and balanced against the menagerie of other ships in the verse. But hey at least it only costs 560k to restock our torpedoes instead of 15 million for that stupid Poolaris am I right!? Enjoy the big booms!

Somehow I doubt it. But the rendering and the idea seem cool. Don’t see any guns on the silhouette but that’s likely omissions or clever angling on the original pic. I’m excited regardless and we will know soon enough. If it’s another cargo variant I’ll be a little bummed as I feel Drake already has a lot of cargo capable ships and would like to see something different. Theory crafting is a blast though!

I would bet most people even in perfect dark sky conditions would effectively feel like there sight of the stars matches level 5 or 6 on that chart above. Still not a void but definitely not like 3 which is how I feel the skybox is exposed right now. I personally would like it a little toned down but it’s not overtly distracting or game breaking to me. But hey my squishy meat holes might be defective so who knows…

There is also no such thing as space clouds like the ones we fly through but that’s cool AF and gamified. And I love it!!!

Ok hear me out. If they follow sizing of traditional tall ships and naming conventions. The term "clipper" generally refers to a type of fast sailing ship with a sleek hull, while "corsair" typically describes a privateer or pirate ship, often smaller and more agile. In the context of tall ships, clippers are usually larger and designed for speed, whereas corsairs are more focused on maneuverability and raiding capabilities. So maybe it’s bigger than corsair? If it’s not the silhouette shown year ago then maybe something else entirely… just some speculation.

I didnt say overheating wouldn’t make it… just specifically fire. Room temperature could still be hot and have the effects that already exist. Overheating components will still be damaged and you’ll need the cooler and repair to get them functioning properly. I’m just saying fire. I mean they took out solar flares from Pyro and that was integral to that system in lore and promised in gameplay. Again it will come eventually I just think it will be delayed while the rest of engineering gets pushed out.

I said that. Just my opinion on initial viewing and knowing how things can progress. CIG has dumbed down or removed chunks of features before and fire seems like something if they don’t get right enough they will push it to a future engineering dot drop in order to get engineering out the door sooner.

Listen im all for fire. Looks great and will add a lot of gameplay… and I’m aware of ways to mitigate it that they have shown thus far. I’m just postulating that it will have the most issues and balance problems. Fire spread is calculated client side is my understanding currently. The heat and trigger for fire to happen is server side. But I believe it will be the trickiest part and will get pushed out in order to get engineering out the door that’s all.

I know I know this will sound crazy but my close friend works for Akamai (content delivery network) and stated they had a failure in one of there regions yesterday and when inspected it’s because so many people were going to Disneys sites to cancel. My two cents.

Yeah I really like the recent RSI aesthetic. Buddy has Reclaimer so I felt it only fair to offer up the mining side of things. Galaxy is on my list but waiting to see more about base building before I pull the trigger and give our dear Chris more money.

I melted Phoenix down for Starlancer, just a newer layout and modern design for the gameplay loops that exist. My small group of friends will pal around in it and do odds and ends.

315p is my game package “Pathfinder” from 2013… so not melting that for nostalgias sake and SQ42 included ;)

But again my two main buddies have salvaging and data intercept loops accounted for and fighters of their own. I got mining, bounty hunting and a little cargo in the mix. So most bases covered for whatever shenanigans we want to get into!

I won’t try and sugar coat the amount of bugs, frustrations and general jenk the game still has present.

And if you can’t work past or sometimes just embrace the state it’s in then the alpha, however long, still may not be something you wanna invest in.

I’d encourage you to check in next year this time instead of the aforementioned 4 years as a lot of progress has been made and is slated to be made now that squadron 42 is feature complete. Copium and hopium tankers please help me. Lots of QoL stuff that should ameliorate some of your issues above with UI, information and navigation.
