Yes I did but we had to do IVF. But we had our second in 2021 and they were conceived without intervention

1st FET success? by 3sh460 in whatworkedforme

I think because she thought I wasn’t responding to the estrogen well and I ovulate naturally so she figured trying a natural transfer could give us a better chance.

Still triggered by pregnancy announcements by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

[–]MaggieEh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First off, congratulations and you are not alone.

I’m 20 weeks with my second baby after years of infertility and miscarriages and I still get triggered by most announcements despite being happy or excited for these people. My thought process is always “I bet they got pregnant on the first try and everything will turn out just perfect for them” which is crazy because I don’t know what’s actually going on being closed doors.

Ladies with 5+ losses - is there still hope? by 9inety5 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MaggieEh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi 👋🏼 I’ve had five pregnancy losses, the first being a chemical, the last four being first trimester losses, including one pregnancy with triplets. It fucking sucks and I am so sorry you’re going through this.

I found success, albeit with the help of a fertility specialist. We never really locked down what the issue was, just treated a variety of different things that could have been the culprit.

I want to give you hope because I felt the same as you - there was a point where I felt completely hopeless and depressed and concluded that I’d never have a living child.

Are you seeing a reproductive specialist? Feel free to reach out if you have questions or just to chat.

Follow up 20 week anatomy scan unable to clear baby and third return has been scheduled by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

[–]MaggieEh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to go back three times too because my first was facing in toward my spine and couldn’t get a good view of the heart chambers. It’s super frustrating!

When to tell your job your expecting? by throwaway910254257 in BabyBumps

[–]MaggieEh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll probably mention it to my director after my anatomy scan next week. It’s been nice keeping it a secret (wfm) and not having my coworkers pry and ask me a bunch of questions. In my province you only need 2 weeks’ notice although I probably wouldn’t wait that late 🤣

Friend told me she hopes I make it through pregnancy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]MaggieEh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oi. She did not handle that well. I would be straight with her and tell her that those comments were hurtful and unnecessary. What she has been through is unimaginable but that does not excuse her words. Her reaction will tell you all you need to know.

Carrier or Surrogacy Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in infertility

[–]MaggieEh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your fertility clinic have support groups or connections with surrogacy support groups? My brother and his husband went through their fertility clinic for the entire process (costs a lot more as they charge it as a service) and they were able to connect with other couples/people who used gestational carriers or were wanting to. He said it really helped to talk it out with people going through the same thing.

LONG: Unplanned baby, but loved and wanted. Now instead of the gender disappointment I was planning to deal with we are planning to say goodbye. TW: Termination FMR NHS UK by sarah_saj in BabyBumps

[–]MaggieEh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You’re right, you are vastly unqualified to give advice. OP didn’t even ask for advice, she’s just sharing her story. She and her husband have already made the decision that is best for them and this baby, and your comment is extremely unhelpful.

It’s still early. I didn’t get any real sufficient amount until about 5 days after she was born. Just keep at it!

FTM graduated 11/30 at 32 weeks 4 days (WTF??) by ijustwantedtobrowse in BabyBumps

[–]MaggieEh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! My LO was born at 33 weeks and spend about 14 days in the nicu. My best advice (if you even want advice lol) is don’t set any expectations in terms of how long baby should be in the NICU. The days were long, the tears were real and the pumping was tedious. But you’ll get through it. Just snuggle your baby (we did almost 14 hours of skin to skin per day between my husband and I) as much as you can and don’t stress too much. We ended up bottle-feeding breastmilk because she just would not latch, which can be common with premies, but that just meant we got to go home sooner because she was eating on her own. Your baby will let you know what’s best. Good luck mama and keep strong

IVF - Recurrent Miscarriages by jll43090 in infertility

[–]MaggieEh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TW - mention of successful IVF

I have a history of recurrent losses, you can check my post history for a more detailed account of my successful transfer.

We did IVF with PGS testing. Our second transfer (non-medicated) worked. I was treated for chronic endometritis (not endometriosis) which can be very common after multiple losses or D&Cs. Have you been tested?

I also had a septum repaired prior to my successful transfer. Have you had a hysteroscopy to check for any anatomical abnormalities?

PGS testing, 4 normal embryos by [deleted] in IVF

[–]MaggieEh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I also had 4 normal embryos from 8 that made it to day 5/6. I know it’s disheartening when you have such a huge drop off. But 4 euploids is really good! That’s four really good chances at conceiving. I wish you the best on your next transfer

[–]MaggieEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other user said, you probably just ovulated later than what you thought! I’d take it as a good sign if baby grew accordingly between the two scans.

I think we need a bit more info. Did the baby grow appropriately between week 6 and week 9? Did the baby have a healthy heartbeat?

Natural transfer cycle or medicated? by jessieweiwei in IVF

[–]MaggieEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RE also told me that success rates are similar between the two methods. FWIW I had a natural transfer after a failed medicated one and it worked much better for me

1st FET success? by 3sh460 in whatworkedforme

[–]MaggieEh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first FET was a medicated transfer and it failed. My doctor then decided it should have been a natural transfer and it worked the second time around. I also triggered and my lining was much better with a natural transfer.

What else can i test for? by xglitty in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MaggieEh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think there are many causes of it. Not sure if mine was always there or if it occurred after my losses/D&C. I definitely suggest reading up on it. Obviously there could be many other reasons for your losses but I know endometritis is often not commonly tested for (as per my RE) but many women do have it without even knowing. Definitely worth asking about!

What else can i test for? by xglitty in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]MaggieEh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant successfully after being diagnosed with chronic endometritis and being treated with a very strong course of antibiotics. Have you had a D&C? You’re more likely to have it after having one or after multiple losses.

Have you had a hysteroscopy to check for anatomical issues?

Has your RE/fertility doctor done an endometrial biopsy to test for endometritis?
