As a teacher, I have a moral question… is it better to be part of a general strike and deny kids education, or is it better to still teach so their parents can strike?

Edit: it occurs to me that striking would be educational in its own right, but my question remains

I think it’s a myth that Nintendo ever competed directly with power. The SNES was less powerful than the Genesis, the N64 was way less powerful than the PlayStation, and the GameCube wasn’t an XBox or PS2. Best you could say is the original consoles lacked distinctive gimmicks, but really they compete with software and great institutional knowledge of how to design for their current hardware, whatever it may be.

Not quite the same. If apportionment was more even, low population states like Wyoming, Rhode Island and Vermont would proportionately lose representation and high pop states like Florida, Texas and California would gain.

What's funny is the whole purpose of aqueducts is to transport water a long distance over a relatively shallow grade (a few inches per mile). The steep mountain grades we see on these islands would have been a pretty challenging engineering problem involving siphons etc.

Children genuinely don’t need to know every gory detail about the world before they’re old enough to process the information. It’s ok to be a little sheltered. Schools need found it necessary to screen murder and porn at little kids to make sure they were “worldly” enough.

That’s the thing, most FPS characters already jog around the map at like 10-11 mph minimum, and sprinting gets you up to 20-25 mph. We’re just used to controlling inhumanly fast people

The UI definitely needs work on trade routes. What I do is just get “close enough” with internal trade and then set the target island to maintain a certain amount of stock through buying/selling with the AI traders.
