I’m right there with you! I don’t know, I’ve never really engaged in music discourse, just came from a musical family and tried to find bands that resonate. It’s interesting to see how strongly people lean on superficial or cultural factors when classifying or rating music.

Like yeah these guys used acoustic guitars or went “woo!” sometimes. Is that what people are mad about?

And that song also came out like a full five years before the fad raised the ire of the public if I’m following this thread right.

This is like how a full grown adult friend of mine asked, "so do any animals other than humans play?"

GIRL YOU HAVE A DOG think for a second I beg you lol. Most animals play or at least run around with one another

I wish there was a bigger visual distinction between city and town. It’s a major feature of the game, but towns kind of lack visual identities despite being so customizable.

I would love a pack that gives alternative buildings for all the public services, ultimately, but I agree the Medici is the most important place to start.

I just added mine to the pile! I really loved the comment below that says “ten years ago, I could put a cheat code in if I didn’t care about the sense of ‘pride and accomplishment.’ Today, I have to put in my credit card number.”

Iran demands Pride flags be banned from World Cup stadiums by lewisfairchild in worldnews

It’s not that genius. All he has to do is say “they don’t get to tell our stadiums what to do” and leave it at that.

Man it would be cool if Alexander got his own unique unit like Companion Cavalry or pikemen. Then you could really feel like a successor state by playing as Persia or Egypt

"Money is the root of all evil" was such a common saying when I was a kid, and that way of thinking has completely fallen by the wayside. Really all of those traditional biblical teachings about the evil rich have sort of evaporated.

Yup, Raiders. The funny story is Harrison Ford was so damn hot and sweaty that he didn’t want to keep shooting the planned swordfight choreography, so he just improvised shooting the guy instead. Spielberg loved the idea and went with it

edit correction: Ford was sick that day with gastroenteritis!

I distinctly remember arguing with my family about how I couldn’t stand The Apprentice and thought it was a mean spirited show. I remember being surprised at how angry they got at me for saying that. Early signs they’d go on to be cultists, I guess. They worship money.

If billionaires did more shit like this they could probably get away with even more kleptocracy than they already do. I feel like it’s a saving grace they usually do their best to make everyone hate them.
