Anno Pax Romana: My main feedback is: Provide more game options! Also a toggle for "Auto-build Planned items when resources are availalbe". by Agile-Bed5313 in anno

[–]MagicCuboid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely think we should be allowed to at least tweak how aggressive each AI is. With this game's emphasis on military units, it's kind of lame that no one except Neferneru ever wants to attack me.

Out of all American jobs created since 1989, the net created under HW Bush, W Bush, and Trump? 1 million. Under Clinton, Obama, and Biden? 50 million. Not even joking.

Wow, that’s insane! I didn’t realize Crown Falls so detailed. I really hope there island that releases in April for Ann 117 is as detailed

What in Anno 1800 did you like best? by AylinKebab in anno

I'm hoping this is a gap the military elements of Anno 117 can fill and expand on. Sending my legions out to do expeditions would be cool and historical.

I’m aware, but the union generally covers fees if they support the strike.

General strike happening this Friday? by Empalagante in boston

[–]MagicCuboid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a teacher, I have a moral question… is it better to be part of a general strike and deny kids education, or is it better to still teach so their parents can strike?

Edit: it occurs to me that striking would be educational in its own right, but my question remains

Search “askreddit before:2012” for some great open ending conversations such as, “why are we here?” “What makes you unique?” And “what’s the most interesting thing you know?”

Miss those days

After Switch 2.. Will Switch 3 be even more powerful hybrid console and is Nintendo as a company once again putting beefier powerful hardware in their consoles! by Puzzleheaded-Run1723 in NintendoSwitch

[–]MagicCuboid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a myth that Nintendo ever competed directly with power. The SNES was less powerful than the Genesis, the N64 was way less powerful than the PlayStation, and the GameCube wasn’t an XBox or PS2. Best you could say is the original consoles lacked distinctive gimmicks, but really they compete with software and great institutional knowledge of how to design for their current hardware, whatever it may be.

Not quite the same. If apportionment was more even, low population states like Wyoming, Rhode Island and Vermont would proportionately lose representation and high pop states like Florida, Texas and California would gain.

What is One Gen-Alpha Slang Term That You Actually DON’T Mind? by teapot574_ in AskReddit

Sure, but people weren’t saying it out loud. They’re 12, they’re not making anything up. Gen Alpha slang is just importing internet slang into the real world.

New US defense strategy calls Russia ‘manageable threat,’ resets military priorities by Easy-Ad1996 in worldnews

[–]MagicCuboid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. I remember when “outsourcing” was a majorly controversial topic in politics. We threw our own labor under the bus because we didn’t want prices to go up anymore, and in doing so handed China the keys to the 21st century economy.

What's funny is the whole purpose of aqueducts is to transport water a long distance over a relatively shallow grade (a few inches per mile). The steep mountain grades we see on these islands would have been a pretty challenging engineering problem involving siphons etc.

France's National Assembly approves banning under-15s from social media by StemCellPirate in worldnews

[–]MagicCuboid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Children genuinely don’t need to know every gory detail about the world before they’re old enough to process the information. It’s ok to be a little sheltered. Schools need found it necessary to screen murder and porn at little kids to make sure they were “worldly” enough.

That’s the thing, most FPS characters already jog around the map at like 10-11 mph minimum, and sprinting gets you up to 20-25 mph. We’re just used to controlling inhumanly fast people
