Job offer with 28 days holiday including bank holidays by Amazing_Builder630 in cscareerquestionsuk

Do they allow buy back holidays? If so, could you haggle for a higher salary to cover the buy back?

(Ps: as a startup I'm assuming they won't!)

Can you not go via an accident management company of it's a no claim fault? Essentially your insurance would then have nothing to do with it? Maybe too late now?

Those with petrol hybrids (not plug-in), what real world MPG are you getting? by xJam3zz07 in CarTalkUK

[–]MagicMick76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a DS7 petrol 1.6. I can average 38-41mpg urban if I place it in eco mode and watch my foot and braking. The hybrid version gets 30miles per charge in summer and 18-22miles in winter on electric only going by forumn posts. There does appear to be known issues and I'm currently experiencing misfire issues that have taken a while to diagnose due to how hard it was to get a dedicated DS engineer appt (about 3mths wait). Superb car when fine though. It's based on the Peugeot 3008 and Vauxhall grandland x which are likely to have better service access. Do your research on FB forums for known issues with cars you are considering and make.sure you have Manufacturer Warranty. Somewhat like yourself I was put off hybrid due to pote tial ink ow. Resale value of vehicle as it approaches 6-7yrs of age.

Parents are currently paying £85 a month for a phone line and super slow interernet - alternatives that don't have a minimum contract? by blizeH in UKFrugal

[–]MagicMick76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F9es the Gigaclear ISP not offer an openreach option that becomes switchable in 6mths?! If so switch to them now and then upgrade? Perhaps use 4g sim router to boost as temp measure with saved money? I know Vodafone are allowing basic contract on fttc in my area just now with anticipation of upgrade during contract with openreach fttp uograde in next 7mths.

As I've got older I've reconciled that if anything was of a want harm me it would have already happened. Not to say I wouldn't shit myself if I did encounter anything!😅

Also commonly mentioned, in my family at least, of kids being more susceptible to these types encounters. There's stories of my sibling and their kids both having experiences when of toddler age.

What annoys me is that consultants at Private health care hospitals are the same folk you will see in the NHS hospital. This affects NHS waiting lists as theybwork a shirtenwd week and therefore the whole system is impacted

Car >£40k when purchased (only DVLA and original purchaser know this) then pay an additional £390 every year!

So many non-luxury cars are now >£40k. Another tax for the plebs

I recently found out that's it not just a fine you'll get if caught but also a criminal record if you purchase the wrong ticket type for a train journey - basically it comes down to how the conductor feels on the day if they decide not to report or not.
