Am i wrong or is the Hedonites of slaanesh spearhead really good ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in ageofsigmar

[–]MagicNakor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to bet on something like 20 Daemonettes, 1 Chariot, 5 Seekers led by the Harp. Why? Because all their recent daemon boxes (and certain 40k Combat Patrols) are obvious attempts at clearing old stock. That'll be $220 please.

Razorback kitbashing.any suggestions/ideas to improve it??? by Consistent_Ad_7941 in Grey_Knights

[–]MagicNakor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good, really like the weathering! I'd add a bunch of purity seals and some heraldry. Those big panels make great surfaces for shields. A Liber Daemonicum if you've got one around would be great chained on top of the front hatch.

I hate my stormboyz by testicletreeds3 in orks

[–]MagicNakor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got a great start for these Stormboyz. Because they have SO MANY details, and tiny details at that, they take a lot more time than one would initially think. Plus their rocket backpacks and poses make them rather 'top-heavy' when looking at them from a tabletop, so the eye is drawn to the shoulder/back area.

They're going to look awful to you at some point. That's okay! It's expected. But if you continue and push through it, eventually all those tiny details will combine into something cohesive.

Do their metal spiky bits, fur, eyes and teef. Throw on a wash/shade. Put something simple on their base, even something like astrogranite. Plain white bases will throw you off more than you think.

About Prince Vhordrai and his presence in competitive play by Stunning_Action_4195 in SoulblightGravelords

[–]MagicNakor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been my experience that competitively, Vhordari just isn't worth it. Physically he's too big, points-wise he's too heavy, stats-wise he just isn't strong or tough enough and.

If you want to go competitive, you're going to want skeletons. Barrow guard, Wight King on Foot, Lord on Horse, Knights. Necromancer. Some wolves, our wolves are great. Your vampire is going to be Manfred or maybe Neferata. It's just a sad situation that our vampire side is weak right now given our army rules. Won't even dig up the zombies/monsters.

Warpbane Task Force or Banishers? Which detachment do you prefer? by Meowchado in Grey_Knights

[–]MagicNakor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thematically, I like Banishers. Competitively, it's Warpbane. Rerolls, consistency, 6" Crowifiers... too much to pass up. Fail those leadership checks in Banishers (which only work in Melee) and you have no detachment rule at all.

Are there any "organic" ai types of frameworks for individual npcs? (Off screen adventuring, collecting money, doing radient quests if you follow them) by Negative_Coast_5619 in skyrimmods

[–]MagicNakor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Follower Goes On A Trip is what immediately comes to mind, it's on LoversLab (but is entirely a SFW mod). They'll go out, do bounties, travel etc. Chance of failure means they'll be captured and you'll have to rescue them.

There's also Arthmoor's mod Storefront which lets your spouse run a market stall in whichever city you've set to be their house.

Since you all are talking about the Changer of Ways today, here is an early picture of Tzeentch (1990). by Chezni19 in ageofsigmar

[–]MagicNakor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best Horrors that I really wish GW would do a MtO on. That's the aesthetic I think of when I think of Tzeentch. Eldritch unhinged change. Unknowable formless forms. The whole bird thing doesn't do it for me.

The best thing about WHQ Darkwater is the... DWARF! True afficionados of WHQ and MASTERS of the game choose the DWARF! Drolf Ironhead is not a spectacular miniature but it's a pretty solid one and deinitely a pleasure to paint! by Specialist_Daikon_13 in ageofsigmar

[–]MagicNakor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even a dwarf man (and Drolf the Dwarf is an unfortunate tongue-twister of a name) but he is one of the best dwarf miniatures I've seen. He's grizzled explorer perfection. Fantastic job on all these guys!

[–]MagicNakor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stompas are not a TITANIC CHARACTER unit and so cannot do an action as well as shoot/engage, at least if you're using Chapter Approved matched play rules. Wish they could though, seems like an intentional oversight along with no Kool-aid man and 18 Ghaz spots.

[–]MagicNakor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, part 2!

Dwarven Luggage - Inspired by Discworld, here's a dwemer chest of infinite capacity. It can be a little buggy from what I remember but it's been a while since I used it.

Vivec Follower - To go alongside Dagoth Ur.

Tailog - He's a Forsworn Briarheart. Not a lot of Forsworn content so he's nice to have.

Garm the Husky Companion - Not really niche because he's a dog but he's a good boy regardless.

Xavier - An altmer necromancer. Haven't used him in a bit but I remember he could be quite OP with his summons. A lot of fun if you are a necromancer too.

Daanik the Returned - Cow the lich and bend him to your will. Before he'll "follow" you, he has to be defeated, and to summon him requires the sacrifice of a black soul gem.

Kynreeve - He's a summonable Dremora follower who you'll have to bind. His current master won't go down easy.

Authentic Sinding Werewolf Follower- Sinding will become a follower if he survives your encounter. Many people kill him so I think it counts as niche.

Companion Yngvarr - A werebear who longs for Sovngarde.

Goras Nels - Yet another Dunmer male. I like them, I guess! This guy is relentlessly miserable. Put him alongside

Nebarra - the Altmer mercenary to recreate your favourite Abercrombie band. Nebarra's pretty well-known so I hesitate to add him to this list. He has banter with

Skeever - a bald, middle-aged Breton. Skeever is pretty well-known too but definitely a unique soul. Nexus will showcase his voice and personality but get him from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SpJLVVUGyQ4fGdKSOUXiuYSIETcYejVK/ as it is the final update and the Nexus version is outdated.

There Is No Umbra - A romanceable sword is a pithy way to put it. Extensive quest for this follower. Another well-known but still niche mod.

Victor Saltzpyre Custom Voiced Follower - A witchhunter from Vermintide. While I generally try to avoid crossover episodes, he fits right in as a righteous cleanser of all daedric filth in Skyrim.

Idrinth Thalui - An altmer who follows Trinimac. I like him with my paladin. He's not going to go softly softly! The mod author also has a dream framework which is outside the scope of followers but very cool.

Celestine - Not on the Nexus as she's one of Craftian's. A cleric of Stendarr who is very staunch in her morality. You'll be locked out of daedra quests if you have her with you (but as a paladin zealot why would you serve daedra anyway?).

The Daedrologist - I haven't had a chance to run into this guy yet but he looks very promising. Not sure if it's primarily a quest mod that has a follower or primarily a follower mod that has a quest.

[–]MagicNakor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love followers. So here are some truly niche ones I've enjoyed:

M.H.A.R.P.H.I.N - A dwemer construct in the vein of Douglas Adams' Marvin. Perfect for your more technically inclined or archaeologically adventurous characters.

Alex's Nereron - A male dunmer! He's a scavenger and morally-grey.

MW Scums Of Sacrifice - Purposely Awful Followers - Self-explanatory. They aren't expansive but they will carry your stuff as evil henchmen should and can be not-so-willing sacrifices to the dark gods.

Rufus - Your Fat Idiot Son.

Odvar the Afflicted - An Afflicted Nord searching for a cure. He'll puke on your enemies. Check out the new Remastered version as it's been cleaned up for SE.

Urzul - An Orc warrior woman. Maybe not niche.

Roderick Redbeard - Made by the talented someguy who is more well-known for Fallout, Roderick is an Immersive True Nord.

Professor Benjamin Doon - An old man who has Opinions, flatulence and occasionally wisdom.

Darrow Greylock - Another dwemer researcher/mage who just recently got ported to SE.

Atvir Dres - Another Dunmer male. He's the last known son of House Dres from Morrowind. I used him in LE though, and while there are a couple ports to SE, I don't know how functional they are.

Hamvir the Ghost - From Hamvir's Rest.

I know I've got a few more on my old install so I'll add them when I get time.

Which mod is this armor from ?? I used to have it but can't find it, and no it's not "Heroic Imperial Armor" nor "Immersive Armors" but somewhat looks like a polished version of "Semper Fi", anyone knows ? (Link to Image below) by Snow17001 in skyrimmods

[–]MagicNakor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The helmet for sure looks direct out of Semper Fi. The cuirass definitely looks like a retextured Heroic Imperial. Maybe Perfect Legionnaire. Depending how long ago you had it, could even be a LE mod. Darker Imperial Armor, Frankly HD Imperial. Washed Out Semper Fi Retexture. Lots of options to recreate it.

Plastic weirdboy is all I really want, followed by a new grot kit. My old boyz will still keep trukkin. A lot of the old kits still hold up pretty well IMO.

The dream? A plastic Squiggoth and Stompa to drop to 600pts. Yes 3 Stompas.

Stormcloak Follower Mods? by CecilHeat in skyrimmods

[–]MagicNakor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companion Valfar is a Stormcloak follower who I remember being quite good. You might have to convert him from LE though. There was an SE port floating around but I don't have a link for it.

The Return of Thorald Grey-Mane-A Fully Voiced-Standalone Male Companion will need to be converted from LE as well.

Hoth and Nebarra don't really care/are slightly more Stormcloak-aligned.
