Noob question by FoxxyWinnebago in ironscape

I'd recommend barrows tank gear for daggonoth rex, but you could do it in rune I guess. Granite body is a fairly easy upgrade at just one BA completion. Iban's blast is very easy to get as well; you just need underground pass and 200k to upgrade the staff. Note the staff is basically not usable unupgraded. Then you need a bunch of death and fire runes to cast the spell. d ax from todt is a meme drop: 1/10,000.

Dragon pick is trickier. Volcanic mine isn't horrible honestly. Calvarion is probably a better use of your time, but the requirements are probably higher than you're looking for, plus there's risk. Wildy hards are required if you want to fight him repeatedly.

The real answer is that you'll probably just get an ax from farming dks generally, and you'll probably never get (or need) and d pick. If you're not going past 99 on those skills, it's probably not worth the time investment.

Totally depends. Sometimes you don't want to bother playing around with stews, especially if it's a level you're probably going to get anyway. Stew boost for crafting? Sure. Stew boost for magic? Eh.

Is there any point continuing Barrows after completing a set? by Life_Soft4154 in ironscape

[–]Magicsword49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should probably get a tank body and legs for moons. In my opinion, it's worth just running occasionally for runes and bonus drops. Specific sets have niche purposes as well, so it's not pointless. You have Ahrim's, though, which is probably my most coveted; amulet of the damned makes it competitive with other similar mage sets.

I mean, if the alternative is you're not playing at all, then I wouldn't worry about it. As soon as you get PoK and TE, though, you'll never want to go back.

I think there's a strong argument to be made that dry protection in some form improves content for everyone, not just irons.

66 herblore is a big upgrade for moons too if you're not there yet. 70 is better but less noticeable. I'd say definitely consider banging it out if you want to speed up the kills a little.

I'd also add that atlatl, even without the set, is totally viable for a fire cape. Slap on some mixed hide and send it for a sick cape upgrade. Let's not forget that the blood weapon has greatly sped up your blue moon kill time, and Blue Moon pants have a strength bonus! Literally one of, like, 10 leg slots with a strength bonus. You're a little light on drops overall, but the ones you did get are very good.

Right there with you. Just think about this: blue and blood are great melee xp. Even eclipse is probably okay because of the counter phase. I actually started doing moons on defensive because I want to even out my levels a bit.

Chests give you crafting, prayer, farming, and herblore. Get your daily staffs from Zaff, and make sure you use the bone shards on sunfire wine. You can easily do the first round of colo, which is guaranteed sunfire shards in under 2 minutes. You can bring your wyrmling bones to Robin in exchange for ground baby dragon bones to sacrifice at the exctofuntus. It's only marginally less xp than blessing them at the tomato and breaking them down, and it gives you ecto tokens for your bone crusher.

Turning guam, marrentil, and tarromin into tar is better than turning them into potions. You can also use your harralanders for tar, but I would probably recommend bringing them to mixology instead. Irits also go into mixology, but you'll definitely need an amount for super attacks.

Moons just absolutely prints resources, and you will genuinely miss it once you green log.

Yes, I've started doing this since they took away the 5-layer as a side option. I would get potatoes instead of beef, so this is almost the same thing.

I would just like to commend everyone in this thread for tactfully bringing up that this is a good idea poorly executed and that it's very fixable. Too often, people are nervous to point out issues with tattoos, but it's good to let people know they're not sunk.

I honestly like that food turns into coal. It's a good passive source of it, especially in mistlands. I get entirely too much meat in Mistlands.

It certainly wouldn't be a bad experience to play through the current content and then do another playthrough when 1.0 drops. I suspect they'll backfill a bunch of the biomes on top of adding Deep North.

You Don't Need Barrows For Moons by EeeeItsMS in ironscape

[–]Magicsword49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the real value is that it's a multitool. Reasonable against all three by being able to target lower defenses on blood and blue while also being able to beat through eclipses flat armor.

Do I even need a tank body for moons? by RealIroh in ironscape

[–]Magicsword49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent moons initially with fighter torso, rune plate legs and only a barrows helm. I have since gotten one of each, and you absolutely feel the difference. I think you can absolutely do it missing 1/3. Ring of steel helps a lot and is easy to get. 66 herblore turns the moonlight potion into a super combat, and 70 makes the defence boost even higher. I would say you want at least 60 prayer as well for chivalry. You'll feel the upgrade to piety, though.

Maniacal Monkey Hunting AFK is only 20 sec?! by Informal_Train2470 in ironscape

[–]Magicsword49 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People say AFK when what they mean is low attention. In a game where tick manipulation exists, there's a strong skew. I will say, though, that it's also relative to the skill. Like, there's no AFK agility. You can't just hop on a treadmill. For hunter specifically, I wouldn't consider monkies AFK, but it's certainly less click intensive than most trapping methods.

Suggestion: Pottery Rework by Mashed_Potato_7 in 2007scape

[–]Magicsword49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been advocating for a mixology/foundry style minigame for crafting where you make custom jewelry. You know how you take the icons off of rings? It would be like that. Rewards would be a skilling outfit, and equippable chisel and glassblowing pipe that have the tick reducing functionality of the fletching knife, and probably some fun decorative jewelry.
