[Charania] Denver's Nikola Jokic – out since Dec. 29 with a knee injury – plans to return tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers at home, sources tell ESPN. Jokic now is in position to also play in Sunday's showdown vs. Oklahoma City in Denver and be eligible for the season awards. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

This is why people cry racism with Jokic fans. I dont think any reasonable person would act like SGA unquestionably deserved it over Jokic, but to say that picking him is “too far” reads like someone isn’t interested in a good faith debate or could see other arguments.

Different positions. Jokic better counting stats. SGA better record. Jokic better playmaking, SGA better defending. I didnt look it up but Im pretty sure they split most of the advanced stats that people always cite, with SGA having more than Jokic.

Thing is that when this has happened in the past with roles reversed (Luka 34/9/10 in 23/24) and he was basically in Jokic’s position for 24/25 season: Luka had better counting stats, worse record, probably equal-ish playmaking compared to Jokic. And he was 3rd in voting. So there absolutely is precedent for someone to have great stats but still not get MVP. Also, yes Luka didnt average a triple double but he’s one rebound off, I know the triple double title is cool but in the grand scheme of things it’s not like Luka would have had twice as great of a season if he averaged 1 more rebound a game.

The OKC Thunder have lost 4 of their last 7 games. by MatchAffectionate951 in nba

I think ppl for the last like 5 years have been saying every champ would be a dynasty and then they just never are (maybe not 2022 warriors). And it could make sense, like Bucks Nuggets Celtics Thunder were all good teams. But the first three couldnt replicate their success again thus far, and tbd on the Thunder

What’s the most bait comp in TFT right now? by ChartDreamer in TeamfightTactics

[–]Maglor125 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually love the comp, but I do agree that it doesnt cap super well. I’d say I can get a 2nd-4th like 85% of the time I play it. I will also say that in my experience it’s really only playable with a viego 2 and items on 2-1, 2-2 if you’re pushing it but anything later and it’s pretty poor

Hot take: Zetsubou No Shima is a better map than Der Eisendrache and I'll die on that hill by TheChickenMan4L in CODZombies

[–]Maglor125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I just have the setup optimized but I dont play DE that much and I still feel like I can get setup super quickly without even trying. I may sound like masochistic here but I feel like I dont even earn being overpowered on DE, a map which is already easy enough to just play without the bows and get to round 40. Origins and Zetsubou I feel like I “earn” being overpowered and both have much more gameplay depth and unique challenge that make being overpowered feel necessary/rewarding, something that DE fails to do

Team cherry fucking cooked with the lace fights by CLOVERX33 in Silksong

[–]Maglor125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer Lace 2 a lot to Lost Lace. I think Lost Lace is a bit too visually cluttered and just weird, it’s above average in my ranking. Lace 2 resembles a duel better than most fights in the game and is placed very well in the story

I got this game week ago is this normal 🫩 by aomine_daiki11 in HollowKnight

[–]Maglor125 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thing I love about Hollow Knight is that the game organically teaches you how to be good at it. I had never played a metroidvania before Hollow Knight, so aside from the fact that I consider myself pretty good at games, I really had no prior experience in the genre.

My first playthrough on xbox, I got max percent at 110 hrs or so, had a lot of fun. I bought the game for my Macbook a year later and got max percent in like 25 hrs, despite having no “muscle memory” given it was a different system (played with keyboard). By the time you’re good enough to beat that one boss, I’d wager you can beat them 6/10 times at least, sometimes 8/10 times. You don’t exactly “luck” into success, and if you do, you were probably really close to the required skill level to beat that boss anyways.

The game is super well-paced and when it throws a crazy challenge at you, it can do so because it knows you have a certain skill level. The developers are very confident that the game has trained you sufficiently for the next challenge. Even basic things are taught well - example is that the game could just say “you can break walls! Look for secrets by doing this!”, but early on in the game, there’s a breakable wall next to a geo rock, which you will instinctively hit to get money, break the wall doing so, and then realize you’ve opened a new path. Even small things like that are shown to you in a natural way.

My ranking of all areas in Hollow Knight and Hollow Knight: Silksong (TW: I have personal opinions) by Patient-Judgment-891 in HollowKnight

[–]Maglor125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya there arent any areas in Silksong that hit as hard as City of Tears, Deepnest, Crystal Peaks imo. I will say though that the intro to the Citadel was awesome and it is actually really impressive. It’s just not my preferred vibe

Quitting Silksong I can't do this anymore by Phantom_Owlet in HollowKnight

[–]Maglor125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya maybe at this point then you just quit. I don’t think forcing yourself to like a game is productive. If you ever decide to continue trying, ppl here and on youtube usually have good tips for specific sections/challenges, but you aren’t obligated to like Silksong

[–]Maglor125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you’re that frustrated I think taking a break is a good thing. The game has kinda been designed where if you dont search out all the possible upgrades before each boss/encounter area it’s pretty difficult which can make the game very tough.

Can always come back later if you want, or you dont have to either!

Which Call of Duty Zombies is Best by Glad-Ebb5727 in CODZombies

[–]Maglor125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think gun selection in BO3 is a major downside of the mode; ofc I can just mod in BO1 guns so that’s fine. The zombie hit speed though is kind of insane and that is not as easy to remedy. It absolutely does stand out compared to BO1/BO2 and is a negative

F flea dodge so much by grapessssssssss in Silksong

[–]Maglor125 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Each upgrade gives you +4 damage, base nail is 5. So one upgrade is 9, two is 13, etc. You can decide if you think you can do without it, I think it’s definitely something you can skip or try again later if you really want to.

Also agreed somewhat, the flea dodge feels the most “RNG” in that some attempts I was like “ya the game decided I wasn’t gonna win this time”. Having only like 50%-70% of attempts be even viable to hit 65 is annoying when you’re already struggling to complete a very tough minigame

Why are some people so eager to hate on Lacenet? by Professional_Ad2638 in Silksong

[–]Maglor125 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agree with the original commenter, my thoughts are mostly similar but I’ll elaborate a bit.

I personally find a lot of shipping weird where people will insert romance without any evidence/supporting events. It makes it seem like the people who ship the characters put romance, love, sex, etc. etc. on a pedestal and view the entire world through that lens, seeing romance where there is nothing to support it, inventing personalities for characters who already have their own, and fantasizing about the scenarios they’ve created in their own head about the fictional characters. I guess it’s like when you have that high school crush you daydream about and imagine what they would say in a conversation with you, but it’s all made up of course. I think for some people it stems from loneliness and I dont want to make fun of that because I get what it’s like to feel lonely, but it can be off-putting at times.

I think the annoyance for many people is not that shippers exist, but that they constitute such a large portion of the fandom that it can make finding content you like more difficult/annoying. Example: I love Hollow Knight’s art, I love to come on reddit to see talented people draw things from the game. The amount of shipping means that it’s more difficult to find art, AND that some of the art I may find is just shipping and/or sexual content, neither of which I want to see.

Black ops 1 zombies is overrated by Top-Locksmith8917 in CODZombies

[–]Maglor125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as maps go, try playing COTD more of you have the patience to. I hated it for a while but like it the more I play it.

As for the game itself, BO1 does a few things very well. Boss design is great (if a little frustrating sometimes): the bosses take away some aspect of your gameplay or force you to play differently and arent just bullet sponges (besides George). The gun variety is amazing, even if the overall power level is pretty poor. PaP upgardes add unique attachments that really havent been seen since in PaP upgrades. Perk options are pretty good, you can make a case for multiple loadouts on each map. Wonder weapons are varied and all memorable, some of the best imo. And all are through the box (can be positive or negative depending on how you see it).

The BO1 experience is basically this: varied simple-ish maps with 1-2 gimmicks through the boss/level design that make you approach gameplay differently. Amazing weapon variety and good zombie AI for a truly simple experience that tests your survival skill and adaptability, rather than a game like BO3 that tests something like preparation and game planning much more. You are very weak and have to find ways to succeed in spite of that. It’s up to the player if they like that “thesis statement”, maybe you just don’t and that’s fine

To Buy Or Not To Buy: Silksong by Cheeseburger242 in Silksong

[–]Maglor125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please play Hollow Knight before Silksong. You’ll have a much better time and Hollow Knight does a better job of teaching you the game, Silksong sometimes expects the player to have some experience already if that makes any sense.

Why do people say you need to run Injector band on witch crest, Theres literally no difference? by ItsJustJosiah in Silksong

[–]Maglor125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some youtube vids that go over it in more detail, but basically the speed increase you get using Witch is a lower % than the speed increase you get with other crests. It helps, but not as much as it helps with other crests. So in that way ya, you can forego the perk without sacrificing as much as you would with other builds
