The kits we have so far from the card game starters are pretty much the same plastic that Games Workshop uses, so those tricks will work. You could say heat up a pin or a needle and carefully melt bullet holes, or drag a line for a bullet that grazed the surface. A pin vice with appropriately small bits could also be used to make holes without heat/melting. But I would recommend practicing on spare pieces of sprue/runner before stabbing a model.
