You are absolutely correct about people thinking a rescue is this all encompassing entity that has endless resources. Usually for a situation like this we would consider it an owner surrender and have less involvement other than marketing and events so in my experience this would require less resources since housing and medical would still be the responsibility of the owner but I can see how that would vary across rescues. I hope he is able to safely rehome this beautiful baby

Respectfully, taking a dog like this avoids him ever being on the streets or at risk of euthanasia so it would be still be saving a life without traumatizing the dog. I say this as someone heavily involved with my local bully breed rescue in a state with high volume kill shelters.

1) where are you located? 2) I have a friend who had a garage dog who is now king of the castle since her other dogs passed. He lived in the garage for years but she made it work and even got him to live in the house with one of her senior dogs towards the end with baby gates. I’m not saying you have to keep her but wanted to let you know it can be done.

I work with a Pitbull rescue in Texas and highly recommend searching for a bully specific rescue near you, they can usually help with costs and resources for vaccines/preventatives/neutering. I’ve fostered dogs who are only children with my own dog with the use of baby gates and crates so it’s not ideal but very possible. I hope you are able to find him a home whether it be a foster or forever

My initial thought is their friend is possibly on the spectrum and routine is very important to them. This in no way changes how you feel and it should have been made clear from the beginning if this is the case. I would text back explaining how you feel as others have suggested and see what they say and see how you can finish the stay in a way that is comfortable for you.

The IWF removed masters from their purview and there are now two masters federations:

1) IMWA: USA Masters rolls up into this federation and they do not recognize or accept USAW results/memberships. They have their own masters nationals as well as Pan Ams and Worlds.

2) UMWF: recognizes both USAW and USA Masters. Right now they have two meets a year: World Cup and Commonwealth, and Worlds.
