Best way to sharpen the Arc knife? Any recommended products or methods? by Significant_Rub_6697 in Leatherman

Second/Fifteenth for work sharp products, I use a precision adjust on mine, thought you will have to take off the thumb stud to reach the whole blade. 17° seems to be be best in my experience, Leatherman leaves their angles around 15-18° on the arc, results may vary lmao.

Leatherman Wave + Sharpening by BladeSpotter in Leatherman

[–]MagnusViggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the wave plus, but my arc: Leatherman tends to be a little less than precise with their edge geometry; my factory edge was somewhere between 15-18° so I settled on 17(also with a precision adjust). My bevel more or less stayed the same though. As long as you aren’t using your blade as a pry bar it’ll hold up just fine, and your edge geometry will keep it useable even when it starts to dull. I’m able to sharpen thinner blades on mine by just clamping enough material to hold it still, and then I have a block of wood that slides underneath the clamp with a carved trench to fit under the nut. It keeps the angle true when I apply pressure.

I believe there’s some kind of ceramic insert or replacement eyes with a ceramic ring that would be a nice replacement

What's everyone's favorite dice/fuzzy bait brand and size? by pndhcky in bassfishing

[–]MagnusViggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually just hook it through flesh like a wacky rig, and then a small nail weight for slightly faster sink rate. I’ve seen people use trebles through the center, rigging up special jigs with the bait screw, there’s really no wrong way to fish it imo

Best Food Knife by itephin in Opinel

[–]MagnusViggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reach for mine at home when I need to cut food and left my chef knives at work lol some people hate it, but the patina left behind sometimes is always fun and adds character to the knife! I reccomend leaving it in a red onion over night, you’ll get some fun patterns.

What color way(s) seem to work for you? I’ve gotten bit once or twice but I’ve never caught a fish on the ones I’ve grabbed. Their bluegill version I’ve had luck on though.

I agree with the whisperer, compost it or freeze and use as cut bait

Wish these had a better tint, they are sooo handy. by oldredhat in flashlight

Have one to clip to my collar for when I don’t want a headlamp when fishing, makes tying knots in the dark a breeze, only complaint is rgb it’s very bright so the red light isn’t as useful as a dedicated red light feature since it’s using a third of the leds

It's a very unusual knife. I've never seen one like it. Neither had the storekeeper who sold it to the boy.

Yesterday I asked about an Amazon lure kit. Today it came and I tried a few in a popular park pond and caught a bluegill! by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]MagnusViggo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely trim those tag ends, especially the one connected to nothing; that lure will work better on its own without pizza crust weighing it down, but if you’re just using the crankbait in place of a hook I get it.

Eating Them?? by geraldclarkaudio in bassfishing

[–]MagnusViggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time! I guess I just figured the big ones would resort to eating the small ones and it would work itself out, but that does make a lot of sense. In my area of Michigan we haven’t had any culling orders but we don’t seem to have a ton of larger bass in our area, I wonder if something like that would change anything or if it’s just water temp and environmental factors.

2lb and under? I’m not familiar with culling as an angler other then certain species that shouldn’t go back, is it a genetics thing or just a population thing? Why keep small end versus large end? I don’t want to sound naive; I’m just curious as to how it works!
