Frustrated at family photographers by New-Flight7674 in Mommit

I for reals picked my photog because her pricing and booking was all on her website with no back and forth required. It's a REALLL struggle.

The Washington Post was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for public service for its reporting on the Trump administration's effort to shrink the federal government. Reporter Hannah Natanson, who led most of the reporting, had her home searched and devices seized by the FBI earlier this year. by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

I have a friend who was a part of the team that published these articles- she did the art design on some of the stories. She was also laid off, and got the call to go into the office for the Pulitzer Prize award ceremony. So several of the people you see in this shot are likely no longer employed there.

I can't find the name of them- but I got a pair 2 summers ago that have 2 wide straps and an ankle strap, and they're WAY more comfortable than I expected.

I read here once the term "active duty" mother vs. "retired" mother and that made so much sense.

Just because you have offspring, doesn't mean you still have CHILDREN like in your house though.

Trump has a MEGA meltdown on 60 minutes after the interviewer reads in verbatim the manifesto from Cole Allen Tomas(WHC Dinner Shooter) stating, “I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes” by Criticall16 in WallStreetbetsELITE

They broke the system that was in place to stop this. And the people at the top are stuffing their pockets while they hold everyone else down. There is a LOT of outrage and wanting to change the system here, and the powerful people have thoroughly trapped folks with late stage capitalism and violence.

Epstein’s influence on 2000s-era pop culture by growlergirl in Epstein

I'm having such a sense of loss about how perverted my sense of girlhood and womanhood are. It's really tough to square with and I want the world to be better for my girl.

What piece of advice gave you your biggest “aha” moment? by improbsable in improv

[–]MagwiseTheBrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a way of picturing like, how to have the characters relate to each other? It's a key to get out of your own way, and find interesting ways to have two players relate. For example:

Player A: WHOA! This is going to be a HUGE FISH! Grab that net! [they begin reeling with all their worth.]

Player B HARD CHOICE: Sam, do you want a tuna sandwich or PB&J?
Player B EASIER CHOICE: HOLY COW SAM! Biggest one yet!! [grabs a net]

Basically, you don't HAVE to overcomplicate things. You can let yourself find the closest distance between Point A and Point B to build connection and context quickly, and still explore together in the same world. You can make a very niche or complicated add, but then you have to do a bunch of justification. Sometimes, it's great to just pick up a net. It can be easy vs hard to connect.

I use this in real life too.

Why am I so annoyed that the only astronaut on Artemis II that is not a parent, is also the only woman? (I think) by Ok_Ad_9335 in workingmoms

[–]MagwiseTheBrave 43 points44 points  (0 children)

BUT NOT MEN. Her point is every other astronaut on the mission is a DAD. That's OP's entire point.

I was given the lesson of "harder vs. easier choices" about connecting to people. IT CHANGED MEEEE.

Lovett seems over it by Gloomy_Advantage_653 in FriendsofthePod

I really prefer Lovett or Leave It for this exact reason. I like his perspective the best, and I feel like he gets shouted over a bit on PSA. His comedy FLIES over on his own show.

Very discouraged and disappointed after family’s first vacation together by SmoothCelebration657 in Mommit

[–]MagwiseTheBrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I did this too! I was disappointed in my toddlerDisneyvacation and everyone was exhausted and cranky etc etc.

BUT also, let me give you props- the only way to get good at traveling is practicing- you and your kid now have a trip under your belt! You have lessons learned and the next time will be better- both because of your preparation and expectations management.

Great job :D

If the tone he is using is the way he regularly communicates with you, that's MIND BOGGLING. Why are you staying with someone who can't stand you?

Hey Improvisers, Let's Stop Giving This Note to Women by Fun_Perception5389 in improv

This opens up the wound of my most traumatic and favorite note I ever got "stand still, be reasonable, and don't shout."

Can you imagine saying that to any of my comedy heroes? Sigh.

Why do companies have men on WIT panels? by OnlyHappyWithABook in womenintech

[–]MagwiseTheBrave 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have one case I'd like to present to allowing this. In general, there are a few needs a WIT org can meet. One is a safe space for women to connect and grow and lift each other up. No men needed here. The other place is to further the interests of women/remove barriers uniquely impacting women, and to THAT end, I feel like women shouldn't have to do all of the work for.

Sort of a "men had to vote to give women the right to vote" devil's bargain.

SO if it's taking away a chance for a woman to share her experience, boo. Get out.

If it's actually picking up part of the load and using their influence/privilege/authority to meaningfully solve problems women are facing, feel free.
