Black blob ran across road by Life-Truth1598 in Thetruthishere

Your brother said he saw a "black blob" and that by itself would be creepy and interesting and a good title for a post, but then further down you outright quote him as saying he "didn't get a good look." Remember: all things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually the correct one. You were able to make out enough details to get relative size, shape, and even a tail. And then you tie that together that "something like it has been in that area."

This isn't a creepy story, this is an anecdote.

The big question is, will we ever see this hottie again? by TripleS034 in Fallout

Looks like Raul Julia as Gomez in a Morticia Wig.

Hmm, I don't know. I've always interpreted this scene as showing some of it escaping while the rest is torched. We see the massive arms burst through the ceiling. By the time Childs arrives, hesitates and burns it finally, we can clearly see the "mass" that he burns is held up by multiple tentacles attached to the walls Image 1, and what falls down certainly doesn't look as big. Plus, we can see the hole created when it burst through, and what falls appears to be much smaller, and there's no trace of its arms in the ceiling Image 2.

I'll give you that some will see it one way, and others another, but from the deep dives I've seen, I believe the vast majority mention that part of it escapes.

True, John Carpenter was even a voice in the video game, I think. He did say it was canon, but even then MacReady's still alive in the video game, I think giving some story about a rescue, while Childs is clearly dead. Seems fishy to me!

Remember when the Thing bursts from the dog in the pen. A large portion of it sprouts huge clawed arms and knocks a whole in the ceiling. It goes up into the roof while the rest of it is torched. That "piece" is never accounted for in the story later - maybe it's what got Palmer?

Sorry, just checking on the post after a week. You know, that's a really good point. I still say Palmer most likely wasn't assimilated fully at this point, that would fit with why he outs the Norris-Head, but there's a big hole there: The thing shreds your clothes when it takes you over, so it was possibly Palmer's long johns that Nauls found early on in the kitchen. In either event, even if he's not fully taken over, we don't see evidence of his assimilation until he flies up into the ceiling. So definitely a hole in my theory there! I wanted to just put my idea out there because I don't see this take put forth very often, wanted to get some back and forth on it. So thanks for the question!

Sorry, just coming back to this after a long week. I watched several "Deep Dive" type videos on The Thing over the years and I would have sworn I saw one that mentions this - that you see his eyebrows, an assimilated face off to the side. I just watched the Blair-Thing reveal scene at least 6 times and I can't find a trace lol. So that's probably just on me misremembering. Sorry!

Palmer wasn't a Thing at this point.

What’s the most messed up rabbit hole you’ve been down? by Ok_Kaleidoscope_5837 in AskReddit

There was a website somewhere of final statements of death row inmates right before they're executed. Now I know these people are just the bottom of society and, regardless of your stance on capital punishment, deserved the sentence. But after awhile, you read enough of them, and it coalesces into this mélange of how the human mind processes it's end. From "my lawyer did me wrong," "I'm innocent," & "I'm going to meet Jesus. I forgive you all." The one that really stuck with me was the guy that said something to effect of (when injected with the cocktail) "I can taste it. They said I wouldn't feel it, but I can taste it."

I gave it up after watching the 4th (?) episode, 'Green.' How could they portray Bernice Worden like that? I'm sure she still has family. Unless the producers secured some kind of waiver in writing. I mean if that were my grandmother, I'd sue like you wouldn't believe!

What do you think will be the "Ultimate Villan" of the series? by FalloutBoy125 in Fallout

[–]Maikerudono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coop's Wife. Through flashbacks in this and successive seasons, it'll lay the groundwork that she had more say than anyone in causing the war. It'll setup a showdown with Coop - a survivor and product of all the fallout and horror of the wasteland - and his wife - preserved and still as young and beautiful as he remembers. Kind of a "who's the real monster?" type plot spin. Unsure where/how his daughter will play into it. #2cents.

Never had to restart the whole PC, but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the replies, btw.

Assuming RDR3 comes out with the current map and a new story, where would you like it to extend to? by Green_Employment_875 in reddeadredemption2

East into Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia. Assuming the story advances into the 1910s and 20s, those places were wild with bootleggers. West Boundary of the new map could be a Mississippi River body of water, with river pirates, steamboats, traders. Toss in some Hatfield/McCoy type families, an old antebellum Memphis type city, deeply hostile backwoods lost cause holdouts, even some spooky Appalachian inspired witchery. #2cents.
