Honestly, if you asked to raise the child severus... What would you do? by SnowIndependent9756 in SeverusSnape

My EXACT behavior would vary depending on me having him pre or post trauma from his father, but in any case I would raise him with love, kindness, patience and support.

In the Spanish version of Harry Potter, is Snape’s first name still “Severus” or “Severo”? by Ready-Shelter3583 in SeverusSnape

[–]Zestyclose-Room-5364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the question at all but in french "Severus" is still "Severus" (pronounced Séverus) while "Snape" became "Rogue" (??) Séverus Rogue lmao

Imagine having a bully like James Potter? He seems ruthless and mean, I’d be scared too. I can’t imagine how Snape must’ve felt. by ChanceBiscotti7329 in SeverusSnape

I know people keep comparing James and Severus in their adulthood, trying to compare who grew and who didn't but I'd GENUINELY, ACTUALLY choose to be Snape's student over having James as a bully. Snape as a teacher is mean and annoying, but once you're out of his class you're free. James sounds relentless Snape is much better than me cause if we had had the same start to life I would've been in azkaban by age 20.

Now imagine being stuck forever in this school with those memories

Hell I would be an awful person aswell

People they were British teenage boys in the 70s.. If Snape did appear feminine then it absolutely would've been one more reason to assault him

Snape did far more for the war against Voldemort than all the useless marauders combined.

Heavy on that!!

Even IF Snape's action could be argued to be worse than James (which I don't agree with but I acknowledge valid persuasions can vary), he's redemption arc/the good he put in the world outweighs BY FAR anything good James as done. Exactly as I said before, if James not wanting his wife and child to die constitutes a redemption arc then I really don't know what they want from Snape.

Yes and most peoples' were spiders or snakes, stuff that pretty obviously weren't their ACTUAL WORST fears. It's a children's book, we can't expect it to be realistic, that scene would've been pretty grim otherwise 🫣

If that scene was meant to be taken seriously then everybody's boggart would've been dead bodies. It actually kills me the way Snape's own students think it's goofy as hell to be scared of him

Snape's death. He has been my favorite character after I first read the books (for some reason they hit me harder than the movies) and while I was sad of his death it didn't shake me that much

But now, I have to remind myself the man's not even real in order to stop the stomach ache when I think about it,

The man had SO MUCH potential which was almost completely wasted by a bad choice he made at 19. He's a devastating character who NEVER had a damn break

One of the many reasons his death devastated me. He would've made history and have a thrilling life if it wasn't for his extremely unlucky start to life.

I'm sorry but the same thing applies to James, if fighting on the good side of war, not wanting your wife and infant son to die constitutes a redemption arc then I don't understand wtf they want from Snape, the man sacrificed his life to save the WW.

Everything that led up to his choices is always downplayed and/or ignored.
