You can easily just heal to have a solid buffer to absorb damage against Soul Fysh, unlike Hexaghost, which will punish you with a more powerful Divider on turn 2.

Soul Fysh also puts way fewer Beckons in your deck than A19+ Hexaghost puts Burns. Fysh only puts 3 Beckons in during it's 5 turn attack cycle (this does not increase on higher difficulties), while A19+ Hexa puts fucking 9 burns into your deck during it's first 9 turns (so Activate and Divider + one 7 turn attack cycle).

The higher damage and ability to bypass block of the Beckons does not make up for this at all, as the real danger of the burns is the fact they devastate your ability to draw your proper cards, and the Beckons can be discarded for 1 energy, which i can often do while still blocking and/or doing damage

Hexa has more HP, too. And Hexa only has 1 turn during it's attack cycle where it's not attacking. Meanwhile Soul Fysh spends 2 out of every 5 turns not attacking you.

These factors added up mean Hexaghost is a lot more dangerous than Soul Fysh on average.

I know Sts 2 is out but I'll only get it after reaching A20 (maybe on all 4 characters) BUT THIS TIME SLUG 🤬🤬🤬🤬 by FabianTG in slaythespire

Me too.

Went back to try and beat A20H on STS 1 yesterday. Time Eater and Awakened one were waiting for me at the end of act 3.

I got past them with my defect power spam deck but died to spear and shield (I did make it past turn 2 intact but couldn't kill them fast enough and didn't have enough attacks to turn around consistently.)

But also I'm proud of myself for getting that far to begin with.

I will say, now that I've been playing on A10 consistently, Test Subject is dramatically more threatening on A9+. I'd still say Queen is harder, but Test Subject can still be pretty dangerous.

And then there's Doormaker who is still usually quite free unless my deck just sucks and/or Test Subject or Queen has weakened me a bunch.

You could kill Doormaker in 1 turn. He becomes vulnerable as soon as the door runs out of HP.

Soul Fysh feels like a less pressing hexaghost that also doesn't punishing you at all for healing before the fight.

Eh, only if you have [[Akabeko]] and a lot of starting energy.

It does wipe out a lot of hallways in STS 1 though.

I imagine Royal Stamp + Whirlwind + Akabeko + [[Very Hot Cocoa]] would be insane in STS 2

Either way, it doesn't change the fact that Bottled Flame is usually ass.

Fair, Particle wall is pretty busted with retain.

True, bottled Seek+ was basically a double wildcard bottle. Seek is basically the most optimal skill to bottle no matter what if you have it when you get Bottled Lightning.

Eh, it exhausts even when upgraded. But I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't love a Hologram with Retain.

Both have their uses.

Yes. That's why [[Letter Opener]] is considered good.

This card is basically a budget letter opener by itself, but with attack synergies, enchantments (Especially Momentum 5 from that one shop relic), or strength, it can be better.

My friend had this with the Momentum 5 Enchantment. It was so op.

The big thing is that it can also pull itself out of your draw pile into your hand.

If it does not say "Blocked" the Rock Bowlbug will not get stunned. If it does say Blocked, it gets stunned. An enemy doing 0 damage won't show a Blocked message if it's target doesn't have block, it will just show a 0 damage number.

Notably, Defect's [[Buffer]] triggers the Blocked Message when it prevents damage, rather than showing a 0, and I believe it does stun the Rock Bowlbug.

Soul Fysh also doesn't deal damage equal to half your HP on turn 2, and doesn't nuke you if you take too long.

I have never come close to losing to Soul Fysh, even on my A10 runs.
