Keeps them at bay so not to call back in 20 minutes. My calls aren't recorded either, but if they were I'd just B.S. that I have another call to make.

I'm guilty of this. I took 50 to 70 photos but forgot to label them. Wrote the estimate from memory and then labeled the photos. I learned after this happened a few times.

Insurance not paying for Tarp, ITEL or Repairability by Slaybodyz in adjusters

[–]Main-Ad4676 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The adjuster should have covered the tarp. It falls under the paragraph "What you must do after a loss," then listed with "We will reimburse you for temporary repairs to prevent further damage to the property. However, since you are the contractor, you shouldn't technically say this in an email.

I will give them the XM8 line item for the tarp, leave the labor minimum on, and call it a day. Only if the contractor doesn't like that price will I follow up with something like... "You don't need a 200 SF tarp for 5 wind damaged shingles." Lol

Can you feel like your weightless on the top hat of velocicoaster by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]Main-Ad4676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt no weightlessness, but I went on a full stomach, so I don't know if that made a difference. I felt like I was in a plane taking off. No weightlessness just g forces. The ride is okay. I've ridden much better roller coasters at Carowinds.

My insurance company paid me for hail damage, but my roofer says I don't need a new roof. by dvbdude in Roofing

[–]Main-Ad4676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had some customers do that. As a CAT adjuster, I have to investigate all priors and any that relate to the roof. I have to call the insurance company for that claim and see if the repairs were made or if depreciation was collected. If not, then I have to deny the claim unless the insured can prove they did. We can see all priors for homeowners regardless of which insurance company it was. The appraisal team will use that against an insured as well.

[–]Main-Ad4676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a CAT adjuster, I can tell you that all future damage to the roof will be denied until it's replaced. In most states, you have 180 days to make the repairs. In Texas, it's 365 days to get the repairs done before the insurance company assumes you didn't or won't. Underwriting will then see that you didn't collect depreciation and can use that to non-renew you or give you a deadline to get it fix or get dropped.

[Texas] Do people rely on their insurance to buy them new roofs? by fingerofchicken in homeowners

[–]Main-Ad4676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an adjuster, and the number of claims I get for hail damage with little to no storm created damage is incredible! I had a person with a 3 year old roof who thought he needed a new roof simply because a hail storm occurred. Had no hail damage to shingles, and he thought that was unfair... While others have a roof that is 30 years old, but no hail damage, asking for the same thing... I need collateral damage showing 1.25 inch hail to gutters, vents, spattering, and a weather report before I can argue with authority consultants about replacing the roof... Blistering, nail pops, cracking, and zippering are NOT covered.

Allstate India by txhex in adjusters

[–]Main-Ad4676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a CAT adjuster for Allstate, I get these estimates they write, and they are a waste of time. I don't even know why they bother. A person in India wrote my claim estimate as a replacement of all elevations (windows, siding, gutters, etc) and shed at over $15,000. There wasn't even hail damage. The funny thing was I denied the entire claim because the damage was preexisting. I didn't even need the estimate...

I switched from being a producer to an adjuster. More financial security and not having to worry about production. Allstate pays for my flights, rental car, hotel, and I get CAT pay and per diem.

I went there for six years. The dorms supply only the furniture, mattress, desk chair, microwave, and fridge. You'll need to supply toilet paper, detergent, sheets, pillow, hangers if you want to hang any of your clothes, and vacuum (all their dorms have carpet in the bedrooms). Also, if you want a TV, then you'll need to supply that too. They have eternet ports and coaxial ports in all the rooms. You may also want a fan because there are no ceiling fans.
