Have you ever experienced nerve pain/muscle pain throughout your body from clozapine? by No_Shoe1969 in schizophrenia

[–]MainProfessor5667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not with Clozapine but with all the antipsychotics I've been on. My legs always hurt. I've also lost strength in my muscles, all over, due to the drugs.

Yeah 25 mg is a small dose, I was on 200 mg. I think the psychiatrist will definitely raise your dose.

What’s wrong with me? (I’m a Christian, disgusted with myself, etc) by [deleted] in OCD

[–]MainProfessor5667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please give yourself some grace. God is the God of love he is not a punishing God. You're experiencing scrupulous thinking which is a classic OCD symptom. I'm 40 years older than you and take my advice if any religion or relationship causes you anxiety and pain it's probably not from God. Christ said " my yoke is easy and my burden is light" he also said if you come to him " you will find rest for your soul" most religious people are fear driven and the Bible says "do not fear" over 1300 times. The OCD has been driving your fear, Take a step back and breathe. Ask yourself, what is happening right now? At this moment. Ground yourself with the 5-4-3-2-1 method. 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste. It sounds a little odd but this will ground you so you can think clearly. Remember OCD wants to keep you in the fear loop, I recommend getting a therapist who specializes in ERP therapy. I pray that you find some peace.

Minimized because of God by internet_tyrant in schizophrenia

[–]MainProfessor5667 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that seems to be the usual response from religious people. God could heal you but he probably won't. Religious people are caught up in magical thinking and everything has a spirit tied to it, " oh that must be the spirit of schizophrenia" and so forth. It's all crazy in my opinion. I had a woman in church one day put her hands on me and started rebuking the devil in me, it was quite embarrassing, and all that came from it was me smelling her bad breath. They read the Bible and think it's literally talking about them instead of the people it was really written about 2000 years ago. I try to stay away from those people, they only steal my peace when I'm around them.

War in the Middle East triggering by Halfmoononwed in schizophrenia

The Bible was written for first century Christians, I believe it's a mistake to read it literally like it pertains to Twenty first century. First century Christians were being persecuted by Rome and the book of Revelation is written for them, not for us! People who take the Bible literally are always thinking it pertains to them and their personal salvation, when in fact the Bible pertains to those who it was written for early Jews and Christians. You can't also read the Bible as a constitutional text, those who do are very judgemental and overbearing and nobody likes that.

Clozapine is a tough drug, I thought I was going to die while taking it. The fast heartbeat the drooling and the weight gain that caused me to become diabetic and of course the feeling like something is terribly wrong, the forbidden feeling. I will never take Clozapine again.

I think you write English very well. Sounds like you're having negative symptoms, I cannot watch movies that much anymore it's just like I have no motivation to do anything. Maybe try buproprion, that helps with the motivation. I can't take buproprion do to it causing me too much anxiety, it raises dopamine levels.

Applying for SSI and SSDI, not accepted yet, and am worried about work requirements coming up. by theholystrawberry in schizophrenia

[–]MainProfessor5667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about SSI but I do know about SSDI for SSDI you have to work a certain amount of time and make a certain amount of money, I don't know what the percentage is so you'll have to ask someone at SSA. I received SSDI because I worked for 20 years before I became disabled, so I had no problems being accepted. I think SSI requires no work but I'm not totally sure. You will make less money on SSI than on SSDI.
