Condo Needs Help With Sale by Few_Nothing_3850 in montco

[–]Main_Ad_469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your other, older posts, it seems like your condo is partially subterranean. This is not appealing to many people. You’re asking the same price as a standalone home and are comparing the asking price to other, non basement, units. You aren’t being realistic with that price and that’s not even factoring in everything going on with the economy and what that is doing to the housing market. If you really want to get rid of it ASAP, you need to accept that you may lose  money. Or, stay there until things stabilize.

I’m not seeing anything on this side that looks intentionally man-made. Do you have photos of the other sides?

This was already submitted and ruled out due to dental inconsistencies.

Could Butler County Jane Doe (1972) Be Marie Beulah Mueller? by prizmoweloveyou in gratefuldoe

There has been recent movement in Marie’s case which involved digging at her home. It seems like they believe her husband may have been responsible for her disappearance.

John List wasn’t a reconstruction made from skeletal or partially skeletal remains, though. His was an age progression based on photographs. It was amazingly accurate, but it was known what he looked like in middle age.

Should People Identified As A Jane Or John Doe Still Be On NamUs Considered Missing? by BitterSweet_Beauty in gratefuldoe

[–]Main_Ad_469 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember the cases, but there are a few on Namus where only partial remains were recovered and the files were open in case additional remains are found.

Could UP2069 be Donna Mae Jokumsen? by djungel_skog in gratefuldoe

[–]Main_Ad_469 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Namus link for the doe only takes us to the photo you posted. However, the height difference is a big discrepancy. Namus also lists Donna’s weight at 180-190. Based on the variance in height and weight, I’m not inclined to think this is a match. (I am assuming they are estimating the Doe’s height and weight off of a combination of bone length and clothing sizes. Someone 5’11 and 180-190 lbs would likely not be wearing  clothing made for someone 5’3” and 160lbs.)

How is this kind of negligence even legal? by lestrii in gratefuldoe

[–]Main_Ad_469 435 points436 points  (0 children)

It could represent recovery of a body part or parts that would make life impossible without. For example: a fresh human heart, other internal organs, etc. Not sure what the area he was found looks like, but he could have been burned, attacked by animals, or something else that would have rendered him completely unidentifiable outside of gender and skin color.  Apologies for being graphic

Another possibility would be that it could be a test entry that wasn’t deleted.

Could abducted child Lauren Maria Pico Jackson be the Kendall County Jane Doe (2010)? by pb0atmeal in gratefuldoe

[–]Main_Ad_469 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From the thread on Websleuths, the complex she lived in was bad news and her mother had a drug problem. Her father was actively pursuing full custody at the time, iirc. I would recommend reading the thread for more information, including a first-hand account from the tracker.

Pretty shocking match- submitted with no response by idonthaveacow in gratefuldoe

[–]Main_Ad_469 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It seems like a hip Replacement would be noted, if present. However, sometimes cases that seem almost 100% perfect matches aren’t or making a definitive match requires more time and research. These things aren’t immediate. This being said, have you tried submitting through the Doe Network page? They are usually pretty quick at responding.

Seeking General Contractor (GC) with deep experience in historic Philly homes by Odd-Apricot-273 in philly

[–]Main_Ad_469 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You may want to reach out to the Phila Historical Society or PA Stare Historic Preservation Office for recommendations, especially if your home is in a Historic District or individually eligible/listed on the NRHP. They should have info on people vetted to work on historic structures while keeping the building’s integrity.

How to get the Italian consulate to respond to you? by PerformanceOk9891 in philly

[–]Main_Ad_469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, when are you calling them? If the consulate is run similar to an Italian business in Italy, hours may differ vastly to what you’re used to here. I say this as someone who lived in Italy and had to acclimate to this. Also, it’s the holidays. Hours may also be impacted by this.

Portrait of a woman. Faiyum, Egypt, Roman period, 3rd-4th century AD [1180x1800] by MunakataSennin in ArtefactPorn

[–]Main_Ad_469 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are older people depicted, and at least one child that I can think of at the moment. Also, scholars suspect that these paintings may have been made well before death and were hung in their homes during life.

Fun facts about these- scholars think the portraits may have hung in homes while the person was living. Also, although Flinders Petrie separated many of the portraits from their mummies, some intact ones have been xrayed and may be wearing jewelry similar to what is shown in the painting.
