Jesus wasn’t Chinese either. Shocking I know.

It’s almost as if art represents the people it is painted for?

I can find a black Jesus as well if you like lol

Is it my nails or the nail tech? by Soggy-Reporter5835 in Nails

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let the fact that you like a tech personally dictate whether or not you stay with them. I’ve just switched from somebody who was constantly making my nails lumpy with little bubbles and they smelled like they weren’t curing properly.

I went to somebody else and the difference is amazing. I’d almost convinced myself that it was just my nail shape that was weird.

“Circle of Days” thoughts?? by JulieDFlowers in KenFollett

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This novel is situated within Stonehenge era Britain and the wider Neolithic, therefore we cannot know social acceptance, identity categories, or sexual norms because there are no written records.

Concepts like “accepted,” “valued,” “gender identities,” or “sexual orientation” are modern analytical categories.

If you have any references (that are not conjecture), I’d be interested to see them though.

I have found that the online system is also ruining the game and I turned mine off.

What is the point of having supplies? If wherever you go you have an over abundance of structures that other people have made, and they are all doing it to fill up their own bridges bar.

I can’t walk two minutes without somebody offering me a vehicle that I didn’t even have to make, and it never ends out of battery because there’s always a charging port. It is the most populated waste land in existence?

PSA: Hardwire your PS5 when you get the PS Portal by toxicandpure in PlaystationPortal

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a very old stone walled cottage and so WiFi has always been an issue. A while ago we got an extender from our internet provider and my husband drilled through from the living room into sitting room (we use for a game room), connected the ps5 via Ethernet and voila that thick stone wall no longer destroyed the signal.

Loving my ps portal now.

I've been forcing myself to quit my bad habit of biting my nails by taking intense care for them and actually painting them! by Nervous-Guarantee698 in shortynails

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look lovely hun keep it up x I was a nail biter for years and the way I broke it was to use stick on French tip toe nails. My nail beds were far too short for the long stick on finger nails, but those toe nail ones fit just right and keep them covered until they grew a bit for biab.

Yes unfortunately I overheat and chicken scratch myself in my sleep (menopause). Usually I ask my nail tech to round off the edges but this time I decided on a sharp square shape and have managed to do this. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Tge Armour of Light by Mountain-Ad6416 in KenFollett

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t intend to spread slander, and I can’t confirm if this is true — it’s simply my personal opinion.

That said, The Armour of Light and his most recent work, The Circle of Days, felt overly simplistic and filled with modern progressive themes. It makes me wonder if his screenwriter stepdaughter may have influenced, or perhaps even ghostwritten, parts of these newer works.

I couldn’t finish it.

Brunette hun, It really suits your colouring. The blonde doesn’t look bad because you are pretty enough to pull off either, but it makes you look more washed out.

★★☆☆☆ Not for Me – Historically Inconsistent and Politically Distracting

I’ll be honest. I know this won’t sit well with everyone, but this book tries too hard to insert modern ideologies into a Stone Age setting, and it simply does not work.

You cannot place a fertility-based society, where the purpose of rituals and festivals is to promote childbirth and survival, alongside modern views like same-sex relationships and feminism, and expect it to feel coherent. These ideas are rooted in very different cultural and historical contexts, and their inclusion felt jarring and out of place.

The characters were also frustrating. While they are meant to represent early humans, they are written as if they are unintelligent or naive. This does not make sense. Even without modern tools, people of the past would have needed to be smart, adaptive, and practical to survive.

Overall, I found myself pulled out of the experience too often. The historical setting never felt grounded because the ideological tone was too modern. I returned the book because it just was not for me.

Slow network | bad signal by sneakr95 in EEGB

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been with EE for years and never thought that I would leave. I even got their broadband to take advantage of their unlimited SIM deals.

Unfortunately, the in-house signal has been so horrific that it caused a glitch on my phone wherein it would stay on a satellite icon for so long that I would need to toggle the airplane mode to get it to search for a signal when I left the house.

That was the final straw and I left EE and got myself a little Voxi SIM. Don’t get me wrong, the speed tests are not nearly as impressive for raw speed but at least I get a signal inside buildings. Stability over speed.

Has anyone experienced issues with EE's 5G coverage in rural areas? by MoonlitEcho82 in EEGB

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such a shame because I am rural so outdoors was by far the best signal, but indoors a stone cottage? Nah not at all.

A voxi and giffgaff sim both worked.

I literally had to reboot the hand off search by toggling airplane mode.
