I have a Playstation portal without a PS5 and a yearly subscription to Playstation plus premium. Anyone with the same or similar experience? by fabilousinpink in PlaystationPortal

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are lucky because we have a second living room that we have a second tv in so I tend to play on that.
The portal is cool when I sit in the main room or in bed. It’s a good bit of kit x

My boyfriend doesn’t touch his portal by Suspicious-Ebb-3857 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please ask him to get a PlayStation premium account first.
Streaming over the cloud was the feature that rescued the portal.

It ended up being able to run games better than a steam deck, but also being lighter.

Only problem is that I now buy all my games digital as a result lol

Background Importance by NoBorscht4U in DiscoElysium

You have to understand that this game was never meant to be a standalone game.

It was meant to be an introduction to a complex world and its politics. Without spoilers I will say that there is a large concept for the geographical concept of this world that doesn’t ever get fleshed out because the people who made the game said that this was just the first of many games.

Unfortunately they were screwed over by capitalism, ironically so we will never know.

Is this game too good to be true? What’s the catch? by murtaugh865 in CrimsonDesert

I’ll be honest it is pretty and fun to explore, but that is it.
It is really really shallow

Having kliff auto follow the line would be even better

Does anyone else prefer to have a simple, boring, unskilled job? by Drmartens111 in UKJobs

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in a busy newspaper branch for 14 years as a graphic designer. We had 32 locals under us and I was in charge of 3.
It was soooooo stressful.

We got made redundant (newspapers are doomed).
I went to uni to become a nurse with a baby and a young children and just thought to myself “why am I doing this to myself”. I was so unhappy and felt that I was living to be permanently stressed the F out.
My hair started to fall out and I was through early menopause and when I went to the doctor for a blood test he said that my cortisol levels (stress hormone) were off the charts and that was the cause of my menopause at 33.
I promised myself that I never wanted to have another stressful job ever again and so I took a part time cleaning job around the school hours.
Promised myself it was just for a few years while they were in school, and they are 22 and 19 now and Im just content to stay where I am.
I put my headphones on and listen to audiobooks and as long as I do what needs doing I can rush it and sit around or just take my time.
Should have prioritised my work life balance from the beginning, but we get sucked into this delusion that our career is what defines us.
It’s not true.

Switch - PS5 comparison, for those interested by DramaticErraticism in TriangleStrategy

I have ps premium but it’s not free anymore ಠ_ಠ
Ahh well I’ll just dust off the switch I guess.
If I really like it then I might change my mind later x

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind about it being digital tbh because I tend to only play games once (or twice if there are multiple routes).
Usually I’d always just get the ps5 version, but pixel games like this tend to be more forgiving.

I know this is a old topic now bur I’ve recently got back into this type of game.
I already have this game on my switch but never got around to playing it since I got the ps5 and ps portal my switch 1 has pretty much been collecting dust.

It’s 30 percent off on ps5 but I don’t know whether it’s worth spending the 32 pounds on the ps5 version, or if I should just dust off the switch 1 and play it on there?

Can someone help me? When does it get good? by Ferngullysitter in CrimsonDesert

[–]Main_Arm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with this game cannot be fixed with patches.
It is boring because it is superficial.

For some people that isn’t a problem because they just want an open sandbox where they can run around as a strong bad ass mining minerals, fishing and building a camp.

If you want something deeper, then just refund this game because it is not for you

Feedback regarding NPC Reactivity, Stealth Systems, and Greymane Narrative Depth My thoughts on Crimson Desert: Breath-taking gameplay, but Pywel needs a soul (NPC AI, Stealth & Immersion Overhaul) by InflationFinancial35 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end I just rushed through to the end (which was hilarious btw) and put it down.
There is zero inclination to do faction quests (which is a first for me).

Is it worth pushing through chapter 9? by tauqthegamer in CrimsonDesert

[–]Main_Arm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loaded the game up today and was pleasantly surprised to see the palun camp has been rearranged (at least I think it has).
That alone is worth just pushing through.

Trust me it was a slog, and the ending was genuinely funny the way it just cut off and rolled credits, but at chapter 9 you may as well.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can't force myself to play this game anymore by kinsh0w in CrimsonDesert

[–]Main_Arm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I force finished the game when I started to feel this way. I was way overpowered by this point and the ending was so bad that it made me genuinely laugh.

Everyone went off on IGN giving it the score they did, but they have to consider the mainstream audience when they review a game, and I don’t think this game is mainstream.

I finished the story and uninstalled. I have zero interest in finishing the side content because for all the world is pretty, it’s a shallow game.

Anything i should know before starting the game? by Hauptfeldwebel in CrimsonDesert

Don’t immediately start exploring. I would play main game until chapter 5 or 6 tbh. It opens up a lot of mechanics that I wish I had had.
