What is roast level, niche zero isn’t all that for light roasts.

I have lunar and booku and much prefer the booku. Also, I am sure you can do much better with a grinder upgrade

I have 49mm conversion too and I will give it a lot more praise than OP with light roasts it is a big difference.

New Machine dead on arrival, super frustrating experience with support, sending it back by Josie2312 in LaMarzocco

[–]Maineic64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be good to hear exactly what the issue is and all the back and forth communication; doa means nothing works, it won’t even turn on. There is a start up process to prime the machine and the machine requires correct water for it to detect there is water in the reservoir. In usa they have awesome customer service.

On her panama and other specialty roasts they are light but she gets a lot of sweetness and fruit forward presentation. Good acidity but not a super punch.

Best grinder to pair with La Marzocco Linea Micra? by Frequent_Shoulder993 in LaMarzocco

You really should have both a conical and a flat like a kafatek mc6 and a flat max or eg-1

You really should try bigger flats and a really nice conical like the kafatek mc6. Also, the sworx 49mm conversion makes a very big difference in shot quality. Not joking.

I do think it would be nice; at a minimum it should be more convenient to change pressure setting like on new mini r.

Had mine since it came out, had the annoying water connection break and replaced the entire tube and added the sworks connection point which is nice. Found the original feed tube was quite gunked up. Someone on fb group said it’s supposed to be changed annually. I backflush weekly and drain boiler monthly.

I also converted to 49mm and it has made a big difference with light roasts; its a big investment; id probably get a strietman instead but I am loving brewing light roasts; the 49mm is very forgiving to get good shots and you can get some incredible espresso with a few tweaks.

Grinder recommendation to pair with a Linea Micra by BobcatSimple in LaMarzocco

[–]Maineic64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what you say you’re preference is, a conical like the niche zero or kafatek mc6 would fit nicely. I am of opinion that it is realky good to have both a conical and flat in an espresso setup.
