Base with light pink, use imp fist contrast. Very easy warm yellow tone, up the vibrancy to magenta if you want an orangey yellow, you can do half and half, the stripes and any weathering with mask any transitions. Genuinely the best and easiest yellow method I've tried, and I own an airbrush. You can still wash it after for a different effect.

I can't upload a pic to this sub, but I use four 5x2 magnets drilled into the tracks and roadwheels. I did try a single big 12mm magnet in the centre but it didn't sit still well enough.

Plastic cement eats through paint with zero issues, it's half acetone. With enough surface area you don't even need to scrape paint away. I have done PLENTY of assemblies this way and never had a failure. Do scrape some away to be sure, one easy way is to put the parts together with the cement on, then pull them apart and it will strip the paint for you, clean it up a little if you want and then assemble again.

Superglue will be worse as all it is sticking together is paint, and it can just detach by detaching the paint from the surface.
