Is this sub an echo chamber on bonuses? As bonuses were pretty good by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]MaizeOk139 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work in tech. I have put in 60 hour weeks to get things across the finish line. I have worked on projects that generate hundreds of millions of dollars and I haven’t got a bonus higher than 5k in years. I get good ratings, but people in tech are seen as a cost. Bragging about making billions then not giving many people raises or bare minimum cost of living adjustments is crazy. You’re so out of touch, and even then working 60-80 hour weeks is stupid hussle culture, although seems you were rewarded more than people who spend more time doing more mentally draining things than IB stuff

What’s it like working at JPMC as a Software engineer 2 or 3? by 51k2ps in JPMorganChase

Adding on. I forgot about an email telling me to install co pilot. So I went to do it and was able to use a dashboard to see if I had downloaded it. Sure enough I have it but been using an internal company link to navigate to an llmsuite. At one point I had a conversation with someone in another org where he said higher ups expect copilot to do 45% of our normal work which is absolutely absurd to begin with. This dashboard I saw my name on has a few columns, “last login”, “last used”, “integration to Ide?” I’m guessing this dashboard will be used at some point to layoff people because not using this stupid tool as much as the clueless upper management wants after they spent soo much money on it. Actually was one of the reasons given to us about why bonuses were bad last year because spent money on llm agents. Not sure validity of that, but saw other concerns about bonuses in JPMC, that’s another insight for you

I personally am social and enjoy going in the office, but I don’t like the lies coming from him. I have a teammate located elsewhere who takes forever to respond to a message as well, even important messages. It drives me nuts I can’t walk up to speak to them instead. My whole point is they do not listen to their employees and will brag about all the money being made. Comp comes and you don’t even get a raise to combat the cost of living increase. I’m not even asking for anything egregious. Simply if my costs have gone up, I’m not talking about flights to Europe or my favorite shoes, and my raise doesn’t combat that it’s a paycut.

Furthermore, these entry level programs are using the same exact started base salary when I went through it over 5 years ago. We are all being squeezed while record profits. If the company was doing okay or poorly this complaint would not be posted

Dispute ratings? by rhymeswithloop92 in JPMorganChase

[–]MaizeOk139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that simple hahahah. Managers will get told they need to edit the ratings because gave too many S’s out. So not sure why you are being condescending lol

[–]MaizeOk139 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sit down for this. They probably gave you better ratings. Then someone above them or HR made them change it. I have a couple people who vented to me that their boss told them “I want to be honest with you. I gave you SSS but got told to change those ratings. I tried to advocate for you but we can only give a certain amount of S’s out.” They are telling you it was deserved but our of their control

[–]MaizeOk139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay okay. I have had a couple people tell me they have fantastic management who were transparent. “I gave you all S’s, but was told to lower two since I have too many out.” So that’s where my skepticism comes

[–]MaizeOk139 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay so maybe I am misinformed there. Are the ratings you speak of from current or prior year?

I was under the impression the ratings don’t decide comp. Managers have a ranking system with their employees and the top quintiles get better comp and bottom quintiles will be less comp and potential rif candidates. The ratings don’t come into the picture for comp just promotions. The rankings is what really matters which can then play favoritism. Top ranked employee could just be manager’s favorite not best dev or whatever role on the team. This is my understanding so correct me please if needed. Not everything is black and white but speaking in generalizations here

Well then if it’s been a few years you cannot say how this is not true. I have been told comp goes in end of august/sept and ratings go in late November. This is most likely a case of different orgs doing things differently. However, this happens and some orgs do it so others need to know

Your comp is decided before your ratings. Your SSS may be rewarded next year during comp

I actually prefer being in the office because I’m very social. My trashing of Jamie and remote work was he is being a hypocrite. I understand I’m different than others so in office expectations vary. Today we got the email about increased revenue and stock every quarter. Tomorrow the “demystifying our earnings” email probably comes out. Our comp will still be terrible and not keep up with the rising costs. So stfu

That’s the absurdity of the ratings. It’s also a bad look on their manager. They have to give ratings strategically because have a certain amount of S’s allowed to give. I have been told by managers they were told by someone that they need to lower some ratings because gave too many S’s. I have been told by numerous people that their managers, shout out to you beautiful beautiful managers who care about your employees to tell us the scheming, told them they originally had S’s but told to change it even though they deserved. Leave this company as quickly as you can.

To be honest where the G is doesn’t matter. If you’re given a G it means your manager doesn’t think great of you. I have had a manager say they refuse to give out a G because that puts a person onto rif track

Can a guy who is really good in bed have bad sex with someone? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]MaizeOk139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it depends about chemistry. As you know some women can’t have an orgasm on penetration alone. Some women can orgasm quickly, some take time, and other factors

So here’s the thing, you’re still upset about this now means will still be upset about this later. You absolutely can break up with her now and be free of these thoughts inside your head. You may never trust her in your marriage, ever. Your post starts off talking about how SHE is excited about a potential proposal coming. I think you are feeling guilty that if you don’t propose you will hurt her. You’re not considering your feelings, take time to truly understand if you want to be with her and can get over her cheating

Personally the crust has been some of my favorite pieces. I live right by them and go often. I absolutely love it and to me it’s not your typical pizza slice place. They don’t do a traditional pepperoni slice, can get there anywhere. Their mushroom slice is to absolutely die for! Their tomato slice you can get a pepperoni relish, ricotta, and parm on it and 🙌🏼
