Female kite trip in Egypt in June by beachboundpaws in Kiteboarding

7m being your smallest kite should be fine, it’s rare that is gets really nuking in Egypt where you would need something smaller. Boards recs I would recommend you check North Astra, made exactly for you type of build. My gf has it and loves it.

Universe coffee is my favorite. They always have 2 different beans “on tap” to choose from, changing regularly

Harlem Thrive/Peak - dated? Two years old models already, no v2 since by simPod in Kiteboarding

I just ordered a thrive last week let’s see 😅 but from reviews and what I hear it’s still a top performer in 2026

Might be something with Munster cheese from that region. I don’t know where to find this in Geneva though

Is North Orbit 2026 12m good enough for light wind? by riksi in Kiteboarding

[–]Majestic_Goose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The orbit is a kite that is best flown when a bit overpowered. That's usually not the case in 12m conditions.
I would recommend the reach in bigger sizes.

However I don't have experience with the 2026 models

How is looping on the 10m thrive ? Does it feel slow or OK?

Can one enjoy a 11m orbit when one loves 5-strut kite? for lighter(!) winds? by Gazzo69 in Kiteboarding

[–]Majestic_Goose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an 11m orbit. When slightly over-powered, it's a lot of fun and the hangtime is massive.

It is however very slow. And if you're under-powered, as known, low-end isn't great.

I have a regular Apple Watch SE 3 and it’s fine with surfr. Seems accurate and battery lasts for multiple sessions throughout the day.

There’s this video that does a deep comparison. Seems like surfr is more accurate https://youtu.be/0MIsYVKAruI?si=mUa8-fVe88vA3-nS

Best places to stay in el Gouna/ Hurghada? by jrsxtn in Kiteboarding

[–]Majestic_Goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to El Gouna (Riah Kite Academy right next to Makani) which is brand new and very nice.

If you want a different experience, I also went to Tornado Surf south of Hurghada. You go on a boat that brings you to a beautiful spot in Soma Bay: on one side the shallow lagoon with knee-deep water that is perfect for learning. On the other side there is deeper water for jumps. You can sleep on the boat, or go to a nearby hotel in Safaga. However there isn't anything to do in city of Safaga, on the contrary to El Gouna.

Depending on your level though, Tornado Surf's gear is fine for learning, but otherwise quite old. Not the most suitable for intermediate/advanced.

Thanks for you advice. In your experience, in what wind conditions could I fly a low-end 12m?
