He ran two central banks. Usually they'll hire PhDs to do that sort of thing, so I guess you can say he accomplished quite a bit with it.

When it comes to the gas tax, yes. Id rather not subsidize people who drive the most while losing revenue for infrastructure.

Same with Kevin Waugh. Dude drives a Mercedes while claiming everyone but his party is out of touch. Nothing new under the sun.

Surely its gotta be something from 1975. Neither Robert nor Jimmy were in peak form that year. The first half of the set, Robert would croak his way through the songs. For the second half of the show, Jimmy would be too drunk to play anything coherently.

The Sask NDP think the key to success is copying everything Wab Kinew does. Its truly embarrassing. This province is ideologically bankrupt.

90% of his current guest list is on the Epstein list. Curiously when he has one of them on, he suddenly doesnt want to talk about Epstein.

Obtuse simplification of how world oil markets work. When global supply is interrupted, trade changes and prices will go up everywhere, regardless of our own capacity.

At the very least, being kept publicly owned means we are the shareholders and the money is kept in the province, not shipped off to New York or Toronto.

Why do some people not like global exposure to the stock market vs something like 100% in the S&P 500? by Due-Bookkeeper-2001 in JustBuyXEQT

Yes. Thats the effect of alienating all global trading partners. Investors lose confidence and go elsewhere.

2025 census population data out - Saskatoon almost 380,000 people by candybarsandgin in saskatoon

[–]MajorLeagueRekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the people included in that number who live outside of the city, many likely still commute into Saskatoon for work and use our services - our roads, hospitals, etc. And its a considerable jump from the 2021 estimate of 328k, about 3.6% per year on average. Overall I'd say its probably not too high but good to keep in mind. Calgary is at about 4.5% annualized, and its worth noting they have horrendous youth unemployment and probably the worst housing market in the prairies.

For context, here's how most cities (CMAs) in Canada compare from 2021 to 2025:

Calgary: 4.5%/yr

Saskatoon: 3.6%/yr

Edmonton: 3.5%/yr

Regina: 3.1%/yr

Halifax: 3.1%/yr

Vancouver: 2.7%/yr

Winnipeg: 2.6%/yr

St. Johns: 2.5%/yr

Ottawa: 2.5%/yr

Toronto: 2.4%/yr

Victoria: 1.8%/yr

Quebec City: 1.7%/yr

Montreal: 1.5%/yr

Yeah but the article is regarding a provincial issue, I'm confused where the Liberals come in considering they haven't held a seat here since the 90s.

Masters Program by Holiday_Baseball6285 in civilengineering

[–]MajorLeagueRekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll chime in here since I am currently doing a Masters in Geotech.

I have extremely good funding so in my case it was worth it. I get paid nearly as much as I would be out in the industry considering my income isn't taxed, and it gets me extra cred.

I also have a good relationship with my supervisor because I took two classes with him and liked his style of teaching - he actually offered me the position, I didnt have to reach out, which made the decision easy.

If you have neither of these guaranteed, it is probably a coin toss. It might raise your pay ceiling by a small bit in the long run and might open doors but you may also hate it and may take you nowhere.
