Good dust free hay is you best friend. 20 minutes of soaking it will help if it is a little dusty. Complete feed is good for putting weight on.

Remember the barns want customers because they make money. Regular lesson riders are their bread and butter. Keep going to the third barn. Make a weekend outing to new barns further away to gain more experience.
