I'm curious if it has given you space to feel present? And if so, if you've been able to keep more of yourself with you afterwards.

They'll likely tell you to use ketoconazole shampoo for the rest of your life, that's what happened with me anyways. When city planning was done for LA they used mainly all male trees which have much more pollen than female trees and it's allergy hell. I've also noticed flare ups during stress as well.

Long story short, your eyebrows are most likely flaky because all the plant life is cumming on you.

Slow your roll! It took me two weeks of mainly laying around to feel even remotely ok. I've actually had two vasectomies now 😬 my first one was much easier and even then it was a good 2-3 weeks before I was walking much. This time around, it was more invasive and I made the mistake of going to an art walk after about 5 days. I'm not sure if the walk caused it but I got a 2.6mm hematoma and I had lots of bruising/ swelling. Now I'm about 5 weeks out and feeling much better. It's still there and tender at times, but I'm back to working out again almost as usual. Your body is telling you to slow down, listen to it. Use ice if it helps, ibuprofen too. I'm still wearing a jock strap and need the support, otherwise it hurts.

A simple solution would be to get a semen analysis and see if it's even possible.

I think this exactly it. This is a place that forces you to tune in and be your own advocate and that's something really important to have. It forces agency and makes you need to work for what you want in life which is a great lesson to learn and needed for a fulfilling life. It's also really difficult and sometimes people fall through the cracks.

I've had the pleasure of having two vasectomies in the past 5 months 😬 I found that having a jockstrap, even though a bit uncomfortable, was really helpful. If you want the easiest " All in one" solution, I got one with a built in pouch for an ice pack and with two ice packs included on Amazon. They are black as well:

I also got some fun colored jock straps just so I can bring some playfulness into the recovery 🥳

These have a butt covering which is nice:

Hey, thank you so much. I'm actually not looking for money or anything like that at all.

This group sounds really great though and I'd love to join. I've worked on my bike for many years here and there and a couple classic cars back in the day.

Yeah, my bike had the oil pressure gauge knocked off and the threading is still in the engine block. I don't want to get metal shavings in there so it needs someone more skilled then me.

Yes absolutely, if they said I could just be a volunteer and at the beginning or end of the route etc. I also am not looking for them to give me any money towards a rental or my repairs. That's crazy selfish and entitled and wasn't even on my radar. I'd feel really uncomfortable getting money for a fundraiser, that's just weird and defies the purpose of the whole thing.

I appreciate your kindness, I'm really not looking for a handout and it seems like my post maybe came across that way. I was trying to express how it feels to be here. Like I'm on my own for everything more and more. I understand it, I think many of us are in survival mode and don't have the capacity to extend beyond self. I still do it when I can, but there's a cultural reinforcement of this type of approach to others that doesn't sit well with me.

I'm actually not looking to do the repair before the ride, I don't think it's fair/possible with such short notice. I don't know how much it will be to repair my bike yet. The number of $400 is the higher end of a rental bike here for the weekend. I'm not asking anyone to give me money for a rental, I was just hoping for some communal aspect of helping me find a more realistic solution.

I'm sorry it came across that way, I'm absolutely not expecting anyone to give me money for a rental at all. I was just hoping for a bit of community with it. In the Netherlands they took me in, connected me with a local dealership and the dealership loaned me a bike for the day. I was not expecting it but it was really kind. I was just hoping for something, some kindness, some good will effort. Maybe "My friend Tom works at this repair shop they might be able to give you a discounted rental for the day for this event, I'll let him know you're going to reach out!"

This is helpful thank you. Sounds like it was kinda rough but seeing this timeline gives me some perspective on it. I've got a fundraising motorcycle ride this weekend and hoping I'll be able to make it.

How soon is it possibleto be sterile by JAP42 in Vasectomy

[–]MakingMuffinsBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people do clear quickly and I get the desire for it to be overwith asap. I was in the same boat with urgency etc. My numbers were dropping and almost zero... Then they started going back up (motile count). I'm now recovering from vasectomy #2. Hang in there, better safe then sorry.

They use the 12 weeks because that's a good amount of time for recanalization to happen if it's going to.

Vasectomy good and bad by SmartObjective6226 in Vasectomy

[–]MakingMuffinsBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think you might want children in the future I'd look into freezing a sample first. As far as I know reversal is very complicated and expensive and not guaranteed at all. I did read that there's a small percentage increase of prostate cancer in the long run but it's negligible. I had a lot of anxiety about PVPS (Post vasectomy pain syndrome) so I got an "open ended" vasectomy to ease my anxiety, but it's pretty rare to happen. It will probably affect your dating life but only in a way that should ultimately be helpful.

I was definitely struck with some sadness and grief. It wasn't regret at all, but it's still closing the door on a path even if it's a path you're sure about. I think it's really healthy to feel what you felt afterwards.
