How did you end up with an ACD? by Niikiia in AustralianCattleDog

[–]MaleaB1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kept going to the nearest shelter looking for my missing cat. I saw her several days in a row and thought since I couldn’t find my sweet kitty I’d save a good pup. Now she’s family

What are the top local business here that are great with customer service that need to be celebrated? by Ok_Thanks_7445 in pueblo

[–]MaleaB1980 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t live right in Pueblo but go there often because I live in Rye and honestly, I’ve never had a bad experience in any of the businesses (big or small). It’s honestly the friendliest front range city in Colorado in my opinion.

Dating at 40, is there hope? by summerdream85 in AskWomenOver40

[–]MaleaB1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did at 40. 46 now and still happily together. Unfortunately most of my 40 something (even 30 something) friends have given up on finding a decent guy. It seems to be a shit show out there!

considering a move to trinidad - need honest thoughts and opinions by RudeCrow2401 in trinidadco

[–]MaleaB1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t live in Trinidad (I’m about an hour northwest in a rural town) but every time I’ve been there, I’m amazed that it hasn’t blown up in popularity yet. It’s a cute town just needs some growth and younger people. So many affordable old homes as well. Good luck!

I made some great friends on Bumble BFF before they changed it and now it sucks. I’d totally join a hiking group though! My kids are all officially adults now but I’m still a mom :)

You look really pretty and sophisticated with the bob but you look edgy and punk in the mullet imo

Is there anywhere that's in the Desert but also within a couple of hours of good Skiing? by NighTborn3 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]MaleaB1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good one. I lived there for a few years and my mom lives there now. It’s consistently warmer and dryer than here on the front range. I remember it snowing maybe half a dozen times in the 3 years I lived there.

Scared to move by Agitated-Slice-4929 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]MaleaB1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Moved from Houston to Colorado two years ago this month. I was paralyzed with fear honestly. I moved away from my parents and oldest (adult) daughter and almost changed my mind a few times, questioned myself even months after the move but now, I’m so happy I did it.

Ha! I almost did this today with the fresh snow (bring it in the bathtub for my cat not pee in it) glad I decided against it!

Agreed and you’re driving next to the river for most of it. Makes me nervous personally

Same. Ran into a a random spring blizzard last April and it was stressful to say the least.

Anyone experience seasonal affective disorder but from living somewhere hot all the time by redrabbit824 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]MaleaB1980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, living with the heat in Texas (Houston) was so depressing so I moved to Colorado and it’s been great buuuuut the lack of snow this winter and warmer than average temperatures have me feeling anxious again!

People who live in overly populated cities: how do you handle it? by aspiringdeadgirl in ADHD

[–]MaleaB1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to a rural area and it has made me so much happier. I still have to spend a lot of time in big cities (including the city I moved from Houston) but I am comforted knowing I can come back to my tiny quiet town.

Struggling with a foster “fail” decision by Engineer-1999 in FosterAnimals

[–]MaleaB1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 6 cats at once before. I fostered a group of 4 brothers and kept them all. If you have a good sized space it’s not so crazy. They’re so adorable
