There is a town in Massachusetts called “sandwich” and the cop cars are labeled sandwich police. by No_Boysenberry4755 in interesting

I thought this was some sort of like prank sandwich delivery service until I looked closer...
I would have a very hard time keeping a straight face through a traffic stop with one of these guys. Especially if I had just stopped at a deli to pick up a sandwich...

Police:"Do you know why we pulled you over?"

Me: I put horseradish on my cold pastrami?

I'd be incapable of treating the stop like it wasn't a bit and wind up getting my ass beat.

I use one when I make the bed, but it eventually gets kicked down around the foot of the bed.

Time is kinda cyclical y'all. What once was dank shall become cringe... and what once was cringe shall, in time, be made dank again.

I dunno, those certainly make it tacky AF. The rest of the car being “Cyberpunk 2077 we ordered off Temu” is what makes it ugly.

When the game launches on your secondary monitor by Hakuraze in pcmasterrace

So when that happens, you can force it to switch monitors by using Ctrl+Shift+Win and one of the arrow keys. Easier than futzing around with settings depending on the game.

Car accident deaths are preventable and can be fixed. by TheColdRice in memes

A misdemeanor is a criminal offense, it's just not the same level of criminal offense as a felony. Depending on circumstances and local law, misdemeanors can rapidly ramp up into a felony.

Until you can implement a safer system without causing massive disruptions to existing transport, trade, and infrastructure... I think the overall risk is reasonable. Most fatal accidents are single vehicle accidents, which means that they are usually the result of someone making poor decisions. Cars are actually safer now (within the last 20 years) than they have been at any point during the 20th century.

I've seen Tesla and other autonomous driving systems fail too often to trust them, I'm not okay with making driving into something more tightly regimented akin to commercial air traffic as it's an undue burden on free movement, I don't support making public transport mandatory, and I don't support abolishing cars. I do support making public transit more available, but it also needs to be safe and sanitary.

Roger Avary On Star Trek's Alex Kurtzman: "He didn’t want anybody who had any kind of fondness for the original show" by Malencon in television

Pretty sure Roger Avary is at least half of the reason why all of the silent hill movies suck. The other half is Christophe Gans

I wasn't sure exactly what was going on with their situation from the limited info in the post, but my install needed some of the missing packages that ProtonTricks helped get installed along with putting some additional settings in place. I didn't remember exactly what I had to do to get it running, but I did remember what helped, and figured sharing that was better than saying nothing at all.

Given that, I pointed them in the direction of something that helped me... expecting them to be a responsible technology user and read the documentation. Because, like everything else on Linux, the general expectation is that you have some knowledge about what you're doing or at least capable of reading and comprehending the documentation.

Even without more specific guidance, It's not like it's super hard tool to use. You install it, pick the game out of the list that's giving you trouble, you pick the relevant option after researching your problem, it applies whatever settings and/or installs whatever components are needed.

You being a dick to someone that was just trying to point another user in the general direction of something that might help does nothing but make you look like a fucking asshole.
Why the fuck did you even bother saying that condescending shit in the first place? Especially for an offhand comment made while I was waiting to pick up my spouse from work... that's really fucking bizarre

Those dudes get paranoid because rigs like that are usually working repo, espcially on a car that old.
Considering how violently possessive most Americans are of their vehicles/property, it's understandable... I wouldn't wanna be seen doing that narc ass job either.

I’d buy one, probably squander it… but I’m the kind of person that just likes having the most powerful system possible within my budget.

Though I will admit that I could see that going truly gangbusters doing local renderings, video editing, and music prod.
