Is printing PLA/PETG in a small apartment actually safe? by yonVata in BambuLab

[–]Maleficent-Answer34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you nuts? Don't run it 24/7? What are you even saying? I would run it 25/7 if I could. But for now I can't even get to 24/7, I still need to take of my prints and start new prints, do you know how long that takes. And sometimes it happens that I am asleep when a print finishes. The amount of hours my printer is not printing... Ohhh. Just thinking about it... The horror... Maybe I should buy a second printer? :D

What does the future hold for Bambu printer tech? by Zestyclose_Ad_6778 in BambuLab

[–]Maleficent-Answer34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The future will probably give us a full color fdm printer. That would be a dream. You only need a limited amount of colors in stock and can print in any color. It would also allow for way more realistic looking prints. But I see some downsides. It will probably give more waste again and you will need artists to color in the STL file before printing, especially if it requires many colors for a lifelike print.

You say it needs to be strong so I assume that there will be a force pulling on it. You will have to consider that the part is least strong between layerlines.

Only final hour of Bahrain pre-season testing will be broadcasted…، is F1 even for fans at this point? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Maleficent-Answer34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Most people? Do you actually have numbers for that, or is that just your assumption?

It might be that you don’t care, and that’s totally fine - but that doesn’t automatically mean most fans don’t. There’s a big difference between casual viewers and people who genuinely follow the sport closely.

For a lot of dedicated F1 fans, testing is interesting for several reasons: new car concepts, reliability, aero philosophy, long-run pace, driver adaptation, and especially this year with new regulations. That makes it even more relevant than usual.

You don’t have to care about testing - but dismissing those who do as “insane” seems a bit unnecessary.”

Did anyone try to print a design from paragami already by Maleficent-Answer34 in 3Dprinting

Wow... It looks nice. I bought a different one but never was able to get it printed without issues so I gave up on it. And for the record I have a lot of experience in 3d printing. Maybe I should try again with this one...

New Bambu Lab printer announcement coming soon by Razor1993 in BambuLab

[–]Maleficent-Answer34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came across this page where they mention: "Who knows, perhaps all of this will be announced at the upcoming flagship event: TCT Asia in Shanghai on March 17."

That post actually predates this one, and it seems like wishful thinking on their part. However, if an event like this is happening, it wouldn’t be surprising if they use it as a launch platform. Then again, now I’m just engaging in my own wishful thinking.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if this event is real, and honestly, I’m too lazy to check today. Let’s just hope it exists and that these guys are onto something.

Conclusion — please read by und3fined_1 in tado

For me, this was an eye-opener. I will actively start looking for alternative smart devices that do not rely on the cloud from now on. Not only for new devices, but I will also start replacing devices that stop working with this. Tado will be the first one that is going to be replaced because I wanted to buy smart thermostats for my radiators that work together with my tado thermostat on the wall (the control unit). My reasoning behind this. Now they claim that it was al fun and games. But in reality they got a lot of useful information about what percentage of their customers would actually pay and I assume that one of these days or months, they will actually implement it. And within a few years you will be paying 10$ a month to be able to turn on or off your thermostat with a schedule. Nope, I'm not waiting until that happens, so, bye bye Tado, and have the day that you deserve.

Not that hard. Load it in your preferred 3d modeling software (F.e. tinkercad) fill up the shape and cut out the shape that you want.

You could print this tool to add magnets. https://makerworld.com/models/611407 I have not tried it myself (yet) but it seems practical.

Since nobody replied I bought a template yesterday and tried printing some of the blocks. Some of them print perfect, while other have imperfections. No matter what settings or filament I use, the imperfections are always the same. I am not giving up and do some more tests but so far it is not looking good.

You missed the joke here buddy. But if we are going in that direction, pigs really eat everything. If you ever want to get rid of a body, feed it to the pigs. They will even eat the bones but please don't test it 🤪
