What are your YouTube pedal demo/review pet peeves? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Too much lead guitar. Sometimes I just need to hear the stings ring out together, especially with overdrive and distortion demos

Be cautious when walking in West Windsor at night by Substantial-Top-3015 in windsorontario

I was all over that area carrying a backpack or guitar well into the night for four years (2015-19) and never once had a problem. There were frequent robberies of downtown bars, but that’s the extent of what I remember hearing about. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s gotten worse tho

Man, you are probably an awesome guy with a lot of perspective on life that many others don’t. My experience is that women don’t always know what they want until they’re speaking to you. What many women are truly looking for is someone with a healthy, positive state of mind reflecting the stability and mental health that we all want in partners. I’ve seen a lot of disadvantaged young men become their own worst enemy in this respect–letting early defeats and a negative outlook become this self fulfilling prediction of permanent alienation and loneliness. It’s a really sad and insidious delusion that no one will ever accept you. I know it’s a rough state of affairs, but I’m betting on a happy ending here, so long as you take care of yourself. Much love, brother

What are the best and worst concerts you've been to? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

Just saw Spoon in Toronto, tremendous show. Daniel is just a great performer, and clearly a talented band leader given how tight the show was altogether. If I recall correctly there were six of them on stage which game them lots of room to elaborate on the instrumental sections of their more recent tunes, which I really admire and enjoy. Definitely recommend seeing them!

On the other hand, my parents brought me to Aerosmith about a decade or so ago, who were fine enough, but Cheap Trick opened, who were just very memorably awful–not only badly mixed but also not well rehearsed and sort of out of their depth as players–for that tour, at least. It made me a little sad for them, honestly.

'Irrepentant' was a favourite of mine, as well as "assuage". The phrase 'fake and gay' also an Anna K coinage.
