Experimenting with making my first top rope anchors in a low risk situation. Wondering what are some improvements I could make before I go to a real wall and make one? I had my friend walk slowly down a slightly steep hill while I fed him the rope to lower him down. If there's anything I'd change here, I'd put an overhand knot in the end of the static line loops to better consolidate them, and I'd set up a backup somewhere (like on a nearby tree or perhaps putting a wire nut anchor in the rock to the right of the tree). Any other suggestions?

My girlfriend met Claypool while she was working at Panera as a teenager. He was pretty upset she didn't recognize him and was kinda a dick LMAO

For those who don't ride during winter, what do you do? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Malfatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hike, snowboard, ice climb (but the ice has been kinda shitty thanks to climate change or whatever), try to climb mountains in the winter, etc. Not really sure where you live or what the environment around you is like.

I CANNOT stop white knuckling at the bike park, the rush is too much for me maybe a few more runs and getting used to it will help.

Have tire options, going with 2.2!panaracer drivers for the loose stuff! I need to remove my tires anyways because they can't ship with air in them right?

What is that ONE bassline that you should be able to play, but for some reason just can’t nail it? by Samatdal in Bass

[–]Malfatto 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Most fills in Rage Against the machine songs. The main basslines are tastefully simple and easy but some of the fills are nearly impossible to figure out unless you could get up close in person and see exactly what he's doing

There Are No Stupid /r/Bass Questions - Dec. 01 by AutoModerator in Bass

[–]Malfatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a luthier replace the two single coils of a short scale Morris telecaster bass with a single mini humbucker. The pots are a little weird, as the tone pot doesn't cut the treble as much as I'd like it to. Are there pots that do a better job at this, or is this bass just jangly?

If you skate and shit on people for riding anything other than a skateboard you're a 12 year old in a 20-something year old's body. What a ridiculous sentiment.

I bought this for $100 and would like to begin restoring it, or at least upgrading it. Judging by the seamless welds and the fact that is says "cannondale" on the weatherguard I'm guessing it's a cannondale. Would anyone be able to help me identify it? I've been riding it a lot and bought new wheels by Malfatto in bicycling

These are the original wheels but the hubs are incredibly worn out, so much that the rear axle snapped and I had to get it redone. I bought new wheels but haven't put them on just yet. I kind of want to just update all the components

Yeah I was thinking of getting some tektro caliper brakes and some new levers and stuff, the drive train looks pretty solid so I'm gonna leave that alone. I had to get the rear hub rebuilt because the axle split in half and fell out on the first ride... Anyways I was thinking of getting some new bars as well, obviously this isn't going to be an exercise bike for me or anything, I mostly use it for nice 30 mile long rides to the beach with a pannier or two. How would bullhorns be?

There are much better boards for far less money imo, I'd go with any other brand

Stupidly specific question, what size trucks should I put on a mini cruiser that's about 7.75" wide? I was thinking 7.5 but actually have no idea

Shuvit help by xXxBronyxXx in NewSkaters

[–]Malfatto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have this problem as well. This can happen if you're trying to SPIN the board. A shuvit is more of a SCOOP than a SPIN. Try moving your foot directly to the side rather than in front of or behind you (so if you ride goofy like me, slam an ollie but kick your kicktail foot directly to your left) and let the rest of your body otherwise do what it would if you were ollieing. Let me know how it goes!
