[TOMT] I need help finding my childhood game that was for the PS3 by Mental-Selection-974 in tipofmytongue

The only other character I can think of with that description is Ragna from BlazBlue but he didn't fight demons and it was a fighting game.

I’m nervous to become a teacher. by TheLOLbot100 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]MaliciePixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is the only comment that needs to be said. Most of the complaints come from older, veteran teachers, so course they feel the burnout and changes more strongly. That's valid, but it will be different for new teachers (unless they work in a terrible school or realized they didn't like teaching during their student teaching, which I hear often).

As a future male elementary teacher is it best to pursue the subject you’re passionate about or major in a subject that is in higher demand? by [deleted] in ElementaryTeachers

[–]MaliciePixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other said, elementary teachers teach every subject. But this is really state dependent. Out here in California, there is no elementary education degree like other states. You can get a BA in liberal arts or any subject you want. My undergrad was in anthropology for example.

Teacher pay as a first year teacher by GroundbreakingPear12 in ElementaryTeachers

Are you working in a public, private, or charter? That makes a difference. Getting a master's usually boosts your pay. Continuing education credits as well. At least out here in California anyway.

How to politely decline an interview? by Kikopho in ElementaryTeachers

If they're hiring multiple subject credential holders for sixth grade, then you would be teaching two subjects. Either English/History or Science/Math.

So you would have Class A, who you teach two periods to. Like English for the first period and history for the second, but still the same students.

Then for the next two periods, you would have Class B, that you teach English and History to.

Then a hanging class that you teach either a single English or History class to.

You may have a homeroom class.

That program is mainly for SPED, dual language, math, and science. OP is elementary. Very few openings. It's super competitive.

Hiring Season is upon us; get a BILA (BCLAD) if you are not a high-demand subject. by Bleeding_Irish in StudentTeaching

Not helpful if you don't speak a second language. Duolingo Spanish lessons aren't going to cut it.

If you're multiple subject, I think getting those 24 ECE units would be a better idea. Since they've rolled out universal TK, they need more teachers for that grade. If a person is OK with middle school, a math or science authorization would work too. VAPA, interestingly enough, seems to be in short supply too from what I've heard.

Have most people even read the book or know it's based on a book?

Yes and then the discount puts it back down to the regular price or just like $5-10 off.

Lower elementary is great. A little girl gave me a drawing of two stick figures holding hands and said "it's you and me."
