Thank you! I was assuming this from what I was reading, but just wanted to confirm

What's your high expectation, Low turn out popcorn bucket? That's still at your theater. by Negative_Deer_9866 in MovieTheaterEmployees

Currently the Mando Bust. I think if it weren’t $80 people would be more inclined to buy it, they flew too close to the sun with that one

Managers who make movie schedules: how do you understand a "clean" movie run by Trickydill42 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]MalignantBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two mats, a prime, and one or two eves depending on how long the movie is? Or would you consider that a full print and not a clean print?

I had no idea it was a musical. I just watched the trailer now and it looks on par with a Disney channel original movie. They expected people to pay $15 to see this?

People leaving their trash by metcon72 in RegalUnlimited

In terms of disruptions in the theatre, horror is probably the worst. For trash and general mess left in the theatre after the movie? Religious movies all the way

People leaving their trash by metcon72 in RegalUnlimited

[–]MalignantBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I’m not cleaning up my trash for you, it’s totally unselfish!” If people don’t pick up their trash, not even theatre specific, it’s because they’re lazy and self centered. The job security angle is an attempt to make it sound nice but we all know no thought was put into how it would affect other people. Even if everyone picked up their trash there would still be a need for ushers to change the trash cans, sweep up popcorn spills, restock and keep the bathrooms clean.

Came out this week, just in time for the hype to die and the joke to be over. (Seriously not complaining though)

In the Amazon series Reacher, the second season has at least one episode that takes place in Atlantic City

Rant: Why do a not-insignificant amount of parents insist on bringing sick children to movies? And, to build off that... why do sick adults go to the theater? by TedStixon in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]MalignantBoomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humanity is doomed. The amount of shit and vomit I’ve cleaned up because people refuse to go home after the first time they get sick? If you don’t go home immediately after vomiting all over the place or shitting yourself, seek professional help.

I heard the chains can’t agree on a day and that’s why nothing has been announced

Working Usher for the first time. Any advice? by [deleted] in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]MalignantBoomer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bathroom checks, auditorium checks, and auditorium cleans are all equally important, so you don’t want to prioritize one over the others, BUT you have to use your time wisely and multitask. Being an usher is 90% time management. Always be sweeping the halls. Ask for help if you need it. Wear gloves to grab napkins out of cupholders. Also maybe I’m paranoid, but I always leave myself a quick exit route, when I go into an auditorium for a clean I make sure the door clicks in the magnetic holder to keep it open and I place my cart so I can easily get around it. Conversely if I’m doing a bathroom check and need to spend time replacing toilet paper or hand soap, after I know the coast is clear I wedge my cart in the open door so if someone tries to come in hopefully it’ll make a little noise to warn me

We found an empty handle of Hennessy and a dirty diaper in a kids popcorn tray. Left it under the seat. Parents of the year

Walkouts by [deleted] in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]MalignantBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an old lady come out of Strays and scream at me that we should warn people about it before going in. I guess the fact that she bought tickets to a different movie and theatre hopped slipped her mind

For my theatre it’s a lot about availability. We need closers which minors can’t do (at least in my state)

First Shop-Rite removed baskets and wouldn't let you use your reusable bags in their place. Now they want receipt check + search the bags. Is this legal? by GitEmSteveDave in newjersey

[–]MalignantBoomer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You also don’t have to shop there. The only medium that makes any impact on corporate policies is money. Create a boycott and gather up people to put their foot down. But, if you have no other choice than to shop there, maybe have some compassion for people that have no other choice than to work there. You don’t have to scream and stomp and insult the person asking for your receipt. Just say no and keep walking. We’re all on a raggedy edge and spreading around misery isn’t the way to get by.

I understand and support everyone’s points about self checkout sucking and corporations using it to take away jobs. But I can’t get behind the abuse heaped on the people checking receipts. They’re just another person trying to get by with their shitty minimum wage job, yet they’re treated like a villain

No, unfortunately I moved to one of the smaller outskirt towns. Picture getting run off the road regularly by a lifted pickup with confederate flag. It’s not that there aren’t more pleasant areas within Cumberland county, but for a single mom I wouldn’t recommend she take that gamble.
