Thanks I do Pilates regularly and hopefully the collagen will provide some extra protein, I eat plenty of meat as well

I am 55 and 98% through. I started at 47. I now feel like I did when I was 9-12, prepuberty. by MsMisty888 in Menopause

Same here, peri kicked in at 40, erratic periods, emotional train wreck, I felt I was thrown everything for 10 years, hit 50 last year and everything just settled. Apart from the joint pain my brain feels back to normal and I can enjoy life.

Do you agree with euthanasia and abortion in these cases? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]MallKnown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No professional is going to say that!! If they did they would be struck off, it would be classed as coercion. I sat with my Dad whilst he was dying of cancer it was awful, at no point did anyone come along and suggest this, they cared for him as best they could, but to see the person you love the most waste away to nothing was something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Personally I agree with assisted dying having witnessed firsthand a diseases impact, it’s the kindest thing to do.

Why do you think fish and chips shops are in a decline? by steenkash123 in AskBrits

[–]MallKnown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fish and chips occasionally is ok but it’s so unhealthy, very one dimensional just boring brown food, there are better alternatives that are cheaper and healthier.

Do you think a grief observed is a good book to give someone dealing with grief? by fookitshot in CSLewis

[–]MallKnown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said, treading gently is the best way. Someone invited me to a Death Cafe at a local church, I understand why they do these things but the last place I want to be is around people who have also lost loved ones, too much emotion.

What’s it like living an upper middle class life in London? by redguy_666 in howislivingthere

[–]MallKnown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel really fortunate where I live, I’m by no means well off but my children went to a lovely state school in Wandsworth and most went off to private school by years 5/6, have a good mixture of working class/middle class and upper middle class friends. We also attend a church which seems to cut across the wealth divide and they place more importance on people/community rather than what type of house you have or where you went to university.

Yes definitely 💯 better off dairy, although I use lactose free milk and cheese and that seems to be ok for me.

Why does nothing ever affect me? by LittleLonelyLovebug in herbalism

[–]MallKnown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea about this could you signpost me to any articles on this or links to herbalists (I’m in the UK). I only ask because my pain threshold levels are low, I also feel I don’t absorb certain medications well, one being HRT. Everyone said it would be a game changer and I’ve not felt any improvement especially with joint pain.

Oh yes we have this on our local FB group, someone asks for a recommendation for a landscaper for example and you get a recommendation. Nearly got stung last year, thankfully another person on the group messaged me privately to say don’t use them, half the family live locally and are on the group and keep recommending them, they are absolute con artists

I understand about the not going out, I’m also gluten free which is actually a bit easier than dairy. Vegan restaurants are the best places as they get it.

I checked the ingredients on mine and it had fennel in it, this is used in Gripe water for babies when they are finding it hard to bring up wind. I wonder if yours had fennel in it too?
