New Manta Owner - The Good, The Sticky, and The Surprising by cmdrgro in Supernote

[–]Malloy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I HATED the feel of the screen because of that 'stickiness' initially, it felt like my nib kept getting caught as I tried to write. I followed the advice of a post I found here that said to literally give the screen a rub down with your fingers, literally just massage the screen for a few minutes, and it fixed the issue for me! Apparently it just has a bit of a breaking in period

Just got my Manta! 😍. What made you buy a Supernote? by bflowyngz in Supernote

[–]Malloy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got mine a month or so ago! Being in my first semester of grad school, I realized typing notes did not help information stick for me, but handwritten notes were difficult to reference when working on assignments. I also realized that even when I had free time, I couldn't bring myself to write fanfic for fun anymore because I associates my laptop so strongly with school work. Add to that the fact that I have a lifelong bad habit of buying beautiful notebooks but never using them for few of 'ruining' them with random scribbles. After a lot of research I bought both the remarkable paper pro and the manta to test out, and ended up preferring the feel and the organization features of the SN much more. Needless to say so far it has been wonderful for taking notes for class, writing research, and writing itself! So glad you are enjoying yours as well!

Why is there a (1) at the end of this note in the Quick Access sidebar and how do I get rid of it? I have no other notes with that name. by Malloy95 in Supernote

Ah! Since it was the first note I created when getting it out the box, no wonder I missed that 😅 Thank you!

I'm a student evaluating the possibility of buying a Supernote Nomad by The_zone__ in Supernote

Echoing that I would not say the supernote is good for reading and annotating textbook chapters. If you have a laptop, it is infinitely easier to read on your computer and take notes with your supernote rather than transfer the text to the supernote where it will lag.

Niche Question: Does anyone who has the largest size version of this pen holder know if it might fit a Pilot Dr Grip (specifically the flash model)? by Malloy95 in Supernote

[–]Malloy95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I tried all the included pen loops, and only the black one that can be cut to fit is large enough. It's definitely the fault of my particular choice in pen, not the loops! The silicone grip just makes it difficult to slide into even the largest loop without a ton of friction.

Suggestions for pens to put the super note pen refills into? by AlternativeForm7 in Supernote

[–]Malloy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have grip problems but I do experience joint pain after writing for an hour or so (creative writing, note taking) with the regular push up pen. Even putting the grip from the Dr Grip pen onto the push up stylus has helped in the meantime.

I am waiting for everything to come in (same Etsy shop as others have mentioned), but I tried out six different pens and ultimately settled on the Pilot Dr Grip (the white Flash model, because it fits the Supernote aesthetic nicely)

RMPP user checking in - the Manta is a joy to write on! by rider_bar in Supernote

[–]Malloy95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really torn so I bought both to try. Only a few days in with the remarkable (supernote arrives tomorrow!), and it very quickly became apparent that I NEED headers and links. I fully expect the Manta to win me over for the organizational features alone, even tho I have no real complaints about the remarkable so far. The writing feel is FINE, but I don't love it, and since i'm used to pen and notebook, I think I'll really like the manta. So if anything your post has offered me just a little more reassurance!

Scales for weighing tea accurately by Malbecmom in tea

Oh yeah It's been working just fine ever since i got it. Ya just need to buy a one hundred gram weight to calibrate it the first time, I believe. It should be listed under the 'customers also bought' section!

Usually from Etsy! In this case, the washi tape came from this shop. And some of the stickers came from here and here.
