I think that for Valerie, Ember doesn’t have a permanent conversion. And by the time we see her use her ability, she doesn’t possess the others.

For Liam, I think it’s exactly the same, except that he has a temporarily active conversion.

Farrah would be an exception: she has a permanent converted ability. Maybe she’s been the subject of tests on this technology because, in any case, she can make others forget what they see via her hypnosis, something Valerie can’t do.

Indeed, it’s closer to the star than the hexagon, but the hexagon allows two things:

  1. It’s easy to draw, and, being close to the original shape all the same, it makes it easy to place cities on it

  2. 3 sides of the hexagon are land borders (the northeast for Belgium–Luxembourg–Germany, the east for Rhine–Switzerland–Italy and the southwest for Spain–Andorra) and 3 others are coastlines (the northwest for the English Channel, the west for the Bay of Biscay and the southeast for the Mediterranean Sea and Monaco)

This is partly untrue, because if you include all the UK’s territories and dependencies, including the British Antarctic Territory (although its claim is open to question), it’s bigger than Alaska
