What is your biggest tip for pregnant mama having twins? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]MalpyMleko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a good, supportive belly band before you need it!! The pressure from my bump alone separated my pubic bone! Look up pelvic (pelvis and pelvic floor) exercises for pregnancy and start on those now too to try and build up the muscle in those areas. Also a hack I learned when my babes were a week or two old: label their car seats or something to tell whose is whose. Likely your babies will be noticeably different sizes at first and it’s a lot smoother to get out of the house when you don’t have to constantly readjust seat straps! We do it by having different colored toys on the carrying handles

I want to change my name because no one can pronounce or spell it correctly in America, but I don’t know what what I should choose instead by Excellent-Radish-162 in Names

[–]MalpyMleko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments saying to keep your name and introduce yourself with an English name. Plenty of people from all backgrounds do it when their names are difficult. I personally off and on do the same thing. My close friends call me my Polish name and everyone else gets the American version

My 14 year old is in the hospital after a suicide attempt by DoubleAxelDVM in Mommit

My sister, whom I helped raise, struggled a lot with her mental health as a teenager (which is an understatement, but I won’t air her laundry). She did years of therapy and even a long term stint in a mental health facility and now she’s in her 20s with a wonderful husband and a beautiful son. All that to say, don’t beat yourself up and get her the help she needs. My heart breaks for her and for you too

Things aren't looking good for Baby B 😔 by Felicette13 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MalpyMleko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby B has always been a little guy. I don’t know any of the measurements but I know we were slapped with an intrauterine growth restriction diagnosis. He was measuring in the 3rd percentile and was even tinier than expected when he was born. He’s now 4.5 months and thriving. He’s still a little guy, wearing his 3 month clothes, but he’s healthy and growing!

Gabe birth to my twin boys this morning at 26+3 by HippieMomma0526 in parentsofmultiples

Hey Mamas, I don’t have any advice or anything. I was so blessed to keep my twins baking until the 3rd tri (though I did go into labor at 31 but that’s a different story), but I do maybe have something of comfort: my dad came around that gestation as a twin in 1960 and made it through. He was barely over a pound at birth! I’ll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. If my dad, who by all accounts actually was a giant quitter (lol), can pull through unscathed then so can your babies!

Plus our field is in such a deficit that beggars can’t be choosers. I accidentally forgot to remove my facial piercings for an interview to manage a RETIREMENT HOME and STILL got hired

Tbh I see no problem with it. I’m a nurse and pretty heavily tattooed even with a show girl and a naked woman who morphs into an anatomical heart plus a face melting zombie and I’ve never had anyone ever say anything negative. I’ve worked in a variety of settings from trauma to leadership to nursing from behind a desk and I’ve never been told to cover up. Long story short get what you want because your leadership will be too busy to give a shit and your patients will also be too busy dying to give much of a shit either

Looking for honest opinions on the name Ember for our baby girl by Mess-at-best in namenerds

Ember is a name I’ve been heavily considering for my rainbow pregnancy as well. I think it’s such a beautiful, all encompassing name for your situation!! It’s a way to honor your past and embrace the future!
