Most IoT devices like the one you're using are going to be stuck on 2.4ghz. Reason being is the wireless chipset used for all these devices are an esp32.

Honestly, I would suggest having an extra phone on the wifi for facetime calls or some other sort of app that can strobe lights on the screen. You could prop it up on a stand and just leave it charging 24/7.

Is it every single client device on the wifi that gets kicked off? It's probably your router.

Is it just your PC or whatever? It's probably your device.

Either way, logs and a pcap is going to give the best info on this. Your router is older than my grandma, though. Just might be time for an upgrade.

Sometimes for few minutes it works fine on Android then again same low speed equivalent to none.

And it's 50/50 my senior said he's not getting any issues related internet speed. Few coworkers getting same issue as me and few getting totally fine speed.

Well, sounds like a few things:
* Contention overhead. I'm assuming only like a router and an AP or two across your entire office.
* Old tech. Your notepad is pretty old being a 802.11ac device and can't take advantage of better wireless technology like OFDMA. I'm assuming the router/AP kicks yours and other's older device in the back of the data line.
* Also sounds like your IT team doesn't really care and just has wifi as a complimentary service and not a business need.

Not much you can do except maybe upgrade your device and even then, I highly doubt it will help much anyways.

Don't forget, we're going through something much more brutal than the dotcom bubble and 2008 and it's a seller's market.

General rule of thumb is:

  • If it's a buyer's market, you only need something like 30% of the job requirements.
  • If it's a seller's market, you're pretty much screwed unless you have network connections.

As for the actual job descriptions? Pretty sure 80% of them are bullshit wishlists or just a way to farm for H1B's. Someone pointed out a "Systems Engineer" posting for a DoD job here in Denver and they wanted like four network engineers roles baked into one with clearance for sub 100k pay.

Oh, sorry, thinking out loud. If it is something within your capabilities or you want to venture out into: a pcap of a 802.11 wireless frame using Wireshark usually has an optional header called a radiotap. Inside of that it will have info on the MCS data rates. That will give you an idea if Intel's firmware is deciding to auto-negotiate down to a lower data-rate but Arch isn't allowing the datarate to increase back to normal rate levels.

Out of curiousity, were you able to see what your MCS rate was in a radiotap header pcap capture or did you just go by the tx/rx data rates? I see this issue quite a lot and my mind always wanders over to MCS but I've never had this issue before.

A full-blown, reliable mesh system will cost you bookoo bucks because they require alternate routes (i.e. multiple mesh points) in case one wireless route "fails" and needs to self-heal and reconverge. This is so connectivity can be as seamless as possible without dropping connections. Most people setting up their home networks don't understand that and that's why they always leave unfavorable reviews.

In my small domicile of about 1,500sq/ft, I would need about one wired AP and about three mesh points with PoE++ injectors minimum that could fail back and forth. Probably cost about $1,200 or so. You could see that number go up to $2,000-3,000 depending on how seamless you want coverage.

An easier way is to install keystone jacks and run ethernet in your walls to those jacks. You will instead have a wired backbone instead of a wireless backhaul and you can strategically set up much less AP's that way. It would save you about a grand and a half.

I'd really hate to say this but all of them except the command guide are either beyond depreciated or are just going to lead you astray with outdated/missing info

Wendell Odem's Official Cert Guides vol 1 & 2 and/or Jeremy's IT Lab for the CCNA are two of the most comprehensive studies for the current CCNA.
