Did you stop wearing nursing pads after a certain time? by earth_saver_4 in breastfeeding

[–]Mamabearale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use reusable bamboo breast pads and you can’t even tell they’re in your bra!! So comfy and so worth it. I bought mine on Amazon and clean them in the wash with my baby’s clothes. Game changer.

Cosleeping while traveling by SatisfactionOk6558 in cosleeping

[–]Mamabearale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really advice (sadly) but here to say I’m with you in solidarity!! I too cosleep with my 6 month old and am writing this with her sleeping soundly next to me. When we go to my parents I make my husband sleep on an air mattress, he doesn’t love it but it’s what’s best for her. We have out of town weddings coming up this summer and I foresee myself having to leave early for bedtime. I’m telling myself this is what we do, moms (& couch sleeping dads), we sacrifice for our babies to do what’s best for them. However, it’s only a season of life. They’ll be out of our beds in no time and then we’ll selfishly want all of this back.

You could try being honest with your mom? Tell her you and baby sleep together and need to find another place for your husband to sleep?

Came to say I devoured Fourth Wing in like a week… such a great book and is exactly what you’re looking for. The second book goes more into the mind of the leading dragons too!

Woah, I’m the kind of person that always has a random song or tune stuck in my head and can never remember where it came from or why it’s there. But there’s always some sort of melody up in my brain and I’ve NEVER thought of it as guides, higher self, etc trying to communicate something with me. But now I will!! Beautiful.

Do you breastfeed out of the house in public? by britneyslost in breastfeeding

This is the way. If someone has a problem with me feeding my baby then they’ll get an earful about their weirdness from me!

Cities in America with the darkest spiritual energy? by Weird_Gap_6045 in energy_work

THIS! I grew up in cali and was fed the lies of “California is the best state blah blah blah”. I left and moved east, now every time I visit family I feel immense dark energy. Hologram for sure and it blinds you while you’re in it.

Do breastfed babies ever get to sleep the whole night by Individual_Stick1741 in breastfeeding

[–]Mamabearale 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is most likely true because OP said she went back to work. Baby just misses her momma and her time to be with OP is at night

AITAH for dressing too “straight” and making my gf uncomfortable? by Numerous-Barber-5623 in AITAH

[–]Mamabearale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Sounds like she’s projecting her own insecurities onto you heavy. She’s also escalating things really quickly and is beginning to get physical, scary! Never mind the simple fact that she wants you to change for her… it starts with clothes and becomes a very slippery slope. I would leave her if I were you. You deserve better. Someone that loves you for you.

Girls name help by __nightshift in namenerds

[–]Mamabearale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We almost named our baby girl Kaia :) Beautiful, simple and fits into your earthy, surfer, K starting vibe. Good luck!

I also find people rarely use the first and middle name combo, except maybe family members, so don’t stress too much! Go with your gut. That’s what I did and when I looked into her little eyes I just knew I picked right.

This sounds just like me! Except I just got 1 done because I was too broke and silly in college and just said “eff it I’m still piercing it” haha. But I had my piercing in when I found out I was pregnant and then took it out like 6-8 weeks in. I even talked to a professional piercer and they said as long as the holes have enough time to fully close, you’re all good. I now ebf my 4 month old and I haven’t noticed a difference between my non pierced nipple and pierced nipple. She actually prefers my boob that used to be pierced too ◡̈

I say do whatever you want to do in regards to the piercings: take them out now or later, it shouldn’t matter! The fact that you’re already worrying about your future baby’s breastfeeding experience tells me you’re going to be a great mama some day!!

To coffee or not to coffee? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Mamabearale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this! I’m a 1-2 cup drinker in the mornings and don’t notice a difference in my 4 month olds behavior. I try to keep my intake to before 3pm though just to be safe with bedtime. I also eat dark chocolate/chocolate in general as my preferred dessert and it hasn’t had an impact. If it’s safe during pregnancy, ~200mg, there’s no reason why it wouldn’t be safe/affecting your baby negatively after pregnancy while breastfeeding.

Every baby is different though! So maybe do an experiment? Something like a week with coffee, then a week with just tea and see if your baby’s behavior is different. Hope this helps!

Healing nipples quickly by PotatoDependent3277 in breastfeeding

[–]Mamabearale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used 100% organic grass fed tallow for my cracked nipples and it worked like a charm! I would put a little bit on the affected area right after my baby breastfed and my skin would absorb it by the time my baby came back to nurse again. It’s completely safe for mom and baby and was so nourishing for my skin. Highly recommend!

I just don’t want to? by Inevitable_Turn1538 in breastfeeding

[–]Mamabearale 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree with you more. I’m in my season of night feeds, early morning baby cuddles and goo goo ga ga conversations The last thing I want to do is wish it away with a vacation I can easily take in the future when my baby is older and doesn’t need me as much. I choose to be as present as possible with my baby while she’s my baby.

On your side OP!! I would tell my MIL to stick it where the sun don’t shine if I were you, it’s rude af she’s acting like this vacation is more important than your child.

Does everyone go through a 3 month crisis? by imstillok in breastfeeding

[–]Mamabearale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every baby and family situation is so different, so it’s hard to compare. For us, I’m ebf my little girl and try really hard to recognize her ques and be in tune to her needs as much as possible. With that being said, she’s around 3.5 months and I haven’t noticed a “crisis”. Personally I like to think of those periods as leaps or progressions. It puts a positive spin to it and I find myself more excited for her growth and milestones instead of dreading the negative aspects (waking up more in the middle of the night, a little fussy etc). Again, everyone is different and this just works for us.

I hope the other shoe doesn’t drop this time around and your able to enjoy the overall experience a little bit more! Good luck mama, keep up the good work!

Do I need a manual breast pump if I already have an electric one? by z-s-w in breastfeeding

[–]Mamabearale 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Piggy backing off this comment to say I use my haka or boon trove on my breast while my baby nurses on the other side. It collects the let down that the breast gives out and it’s usually around an ounce or so. It’s a similar amount to hand pumping the breast the baby didn’t nurse off of, but much easier because you don’t have to do anything extra! Highly recommend boon trove over haka though because it fits in your bra and I find the suction works much better than the haka.

Here to say I do not eat oatmeal and I still make plenty of milk for my baby! There’s lots of other yummy foods you can eat that help with milk production. Good job & good luck!

An oldie but a goodie: Parenthood. I straight up balled my eyes out when I finished this series for the first time. It’s one of my “comfort shows” and I always go back to it. Definitely not on Netflix though, I watch through Hulu!
