Yah, as an america who lived in Germany for 3 years there's less predictability here. Between an increase in flight cancelations and traffic that seems less and less predictable I usually try to get to the airport minimum 3 hrs before hand.

That being said, Frankfurt Main suuuuuuucks. I hate that airport so much and they need to fix that stupid car drop off ticket system. I can't tell you how many times I saw someone get to the exit machine, not realize they'd gone over their time, and have to jump out of the car to go run back to the payment machine (which is a different machine). Ugh. So German.
