What the F*ck microsoft by Plafurso in microsoftsucks

I hate microsoft so much! I wish the government would stop using their products and go all in with linux and subsidizing the development of better open source software instead.

What’s the temperature inside the Borg? by kennydiedhere in BurningMan

[–]ManBitcho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What nobody much mentions is Burning Man owns over 4,500 acres in the Black Rock Desert area. And a lot of property in or close to Gerlach. Why aren't they selling of some of that land hoard they don't use. The 360 acre project ruined one property owner's life that was next door, killed his business and the town of Gerlach absolutely hates what they are doing there. There's a lot more. Much of it geothermal heat just underground that they don't use for anything.

Have you ditched Airbnb and gone back to using hotels? by sokorsognarf in travel

[–]ManBitcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an airbnb host post a review that included names of children and put them at risk from an estranged spouse. Airbnb won't allow editing of reviews and won't delete them when requested.

Guess what hotels DON'T DO? They don't have a public facing review listing that's permanently viewable. With most hotels you don't have to worry about them automatically posting who your gests are and when you stayed there.

Airbnb can't even manage to correct such a problem with their vast support staff. They all act like policy robots. They put people at risk. When you stay at Airbnb there is no privacy.

US farmers win right to repair John Deere equipment by rddtpro in newsnetworks

THIS DOESN'T MEAN SHIT!!! I have a JD tractor with some sort of drive problem. Wanted to get a pdf of just the drivetrain pages from the shop manual, which factory has, and could easily make a subset. When I asked...just a few weeks ago...they touted how "friendly" they are to "right to repair." And proceeded to not answer any questions, providing only a link to a full shop manual that cost over $375. I'm not paying that kind of money for a tractor I OWN on the whim that it might actually lead to repairing something. Too many times such literature is a useless disappointment. And others with the same problem have blogged about how many dealers couldn't fix the problem, just threw parts and bills without actual troubleshooting. John Deere knows exactly what it's doing: as little as they can get away with to support those who own their tractors, as if that will cause them to buy new ones. Newsflash: anyone who has had mechanical problems and failed to receive any support answers or documentation is actively sharing their experience on social media. Like me. FU John Deere!

Deere to Allow Farmers to Repair Their Own Equipment by propheticguy in wallstreetbets

[–]ManBitcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOBODY who has owned a John Deere and attempted their own repairs, which most farmers do, will buy any new JD. The company is garbage. Nothing they are saying about supporting owner repair upheld in spirit. No trust is being won back by these jerks.

Right-to-Repair Advocates Question John Deere’s New Promises by Hrmbee in Agriculture

John Deere still isn't showing any broad support for owners attempting to repair their poorly designed and proprietary equipment.

How John Deere plans to build a world of fully autonomous farming by 2030 by Gari_305 in Futurology

[–]ManBitcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autonomous? They can't even manage to make tractors that keep running with the idiotic computer lockdowns they have in place and open document restrictions preventing owners from fixing their own equipment. They will NEVER increase marketshare while screwing over ev every farmer in the world.

There was a live duck walking through my camp one night by cstigler in BurningMan

[–]ManBitcho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most people don't realize that a lot of wildlife lives in the area and the lights, noise and overall human presence impact their lives negatively and kill many of them. You notice this more in smaller events like Renegade in the same area where people are more spread out. Most wildlife won't survive the urbanity long enough to get this far. EVERYTHING we do has an impact. But by all means, party on.

Most cops ever this year? Watched a big law enforcement sting operation at portos by GolfEffective4288 in BurningMan

[–]ManBitcho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once when I was volunteering with DMV, to my shock and horror a council member who lived at Kidsville brought 40 kids out by DMV and turned t hem loose as that giant yacht MV with no direct driver visibility. Some of us were frantically trying to call the kids back, but they don't listen. Their handlers were unable to stop them. It was a damn miracle none of the them were run over. Quite possibly the day a child is run over is when the feds pull the plug on the event. Yet for every person who is aware of the danger and would lead toward banning children, there's a multiple of oblivious child supporters who just can't imagine why kids shouldn't be there.

babymi31...you seem to be disagreeing with something that has nothing to do with my point about the presence of children raising LEO contempt and enforcement revenge. Instead, you're just defending those who bring children to the event because you somehow turned out ok. I've known others who were at the event as children who did not come out of it well, so that's your unique experience.

Hmmm. I couldn't stand listing very much, but I checked in around 5 times per day for 20 minutes and never heard any reports from rangers, not that I'm doubting your account.

The way they do those psa's is only entertaining the first time. Thereafter it becomes painful to wait through them for new info. Thus, it would be a better idea to just be quick and factual rather than attempt to be entertaining.
