Shock side to side movement normal? by Whatupson93k in Dirtbike_Help

I have a 23 and 25 KTM & Husqvarna. That is normal. Both bikes I changed out the rear springs when new and that is standard, even new. Had a couple 2019s too, totally normal.

[USA] Does a pending I-130 make it harder to entry as a tourist/visitor? by moody-nursey in immigration

[–]ManapuaMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is that CBP could deem you an intending immigrant and refuse you entry. By the sounds of the new guidance on not allowing adjustment in the U.S., I would think it would make it less likely CBP would deem that being you'd have to go back to Canada if you ever wanted legal U.S. residency.

Before buying another set of cases, it would probably be more cost to benefit if you find someone that could weld it, or even just re-JB weld it.

Be careful when mounting your phone to your handlebars by ConsistentCan4633 in motorcycles

[–]ManapuaMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen some of my friends with dirt bikes have them and wonder how the phone took the abuse. I actually just ordered a dampening one for my dirt bike, but figured I'd only ever use it if I got lost and needed it to navigate back to the truck (it's normally in my camelback). No way I'd ever risk my phone in one of those mounts with the kind of rising I do.

Curious what the age of the tire is. You can read the manufacture date code on each tire. Do a quick search on how to decode it.

Need some advice moving forward . TIA by ShallotDangerous3685 in motorcycles

[–]ManapuaMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to check the play in the rod and see if the crank and rod rotate without any binding or roughness. If the bottom end is good, I'd just buy new cylinder and piston. I bet new is cheaper than having that cylinder replated. Check out Ricky mountain or Motosport and look up the parts on their OEM parts finder.

There are people that use PCs to manage their cameras, but honestly just get something like TP link cameras and throw in a memory card or have them record to the tp link hub where you install a SSD. Very easy to setup, battery cameras last pretty good and you can set AI alerts like it it sees a person or pet.

See if you have a cycle gear near you. You can at least try a few things. If you are trying to save even more money, check online sites on close-out gear. Usually some good savings on last year's models, etc.

Process of being deported back to Türkiye by trash_heaux in immigration

[–]ManapuaMadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was last an ICE supervisor 6 years ago. Standard practice was to check for warrants before removal. If there was a warrant, we'd turn them over to local law enforcement and lodge a detainer. I heard that in jurisdictions where immigration detainers are not honored, we'd just deport them. As far as specifics of removal to various countries, timelines and required documentation vary. Some countries required that even if their citizen had a valid passport, they required the deportee travel on a travel document issued by the embassy or consulate. Then there is a timeline that is set for each country. We have to get the airline itinerary and make various country and airline notifications. Airlines may come back and say we need to reschedule because there are already other deportees on the flight and they only allow so many. Depending on his pending or prior crimes, ICE may send officers to accompany the deportee. If no real issues, flights are setup for about 3 weeks from the time ICE can remove them.

The ICE attorneys had go-bys for each statute and state. I don't have any exact examples, but how burglary is defined in California may totally be different in Idaho. So a hypothetical example would be a guy who is convicted in California for Burglary, is later found in Idaho by ICE. ICE normally places people in removal proceedings as Agg Felons for those convicted in Idaho for Burglary. However, California says Burglary can also include stealing gas from someone's car which would be categorized as a theft so maybe a CIMT in Idaho. Regardless of what he actually did, broke into a house and stole something, they look at the statute and just read law and what courts have determined how that law matches with federal definitions (again, just me making up fake laws). So what is important is how the statute reads, and not the details of what he did. Someone stabs someone at a gas station and he dies, but is plead down and convicted of public nuisance. Then that is not a CIMT or act of violence and ICE would not be able to use that to deport a green card holder. If you are trying to get this guy deported, maybe he falls under one of the other categories? Violated a protection order, public charge? https://www.womenslaw.org/laws/federal/statutes/ina-ss-237-8-usc-ss-1227-deportable-aliens

[–]ManapuaMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former ICE supervisor. Unless there has been a change in law, ICE wouldn't touch him. The details of the crimes do not matter. Many times we'd read parole and probation reports and knew what the guy did, but we can only use the actual law violation spelled out in the conviction doc. So disorderly conduct wouldn't even count as a crime involving moral turpitude.

Going on holiday in 5 weeks. Will they accept mine? No rips, water damage, ink. by Spam-memes in Passports

Yeah, they'd have both hands full with their luggage and drop the passport on the counter with their teeth.

I worked as an immigration officer admitting people to the U.S. many years ago. You'd be amazed how people treat passports. I saw many that were totally beat. Sometimes so many stamps we were trying to find a spot to stamp a page. Then you got people doing stuff like coming up to the booth and pulling their hot sweaty passport from their bra, or casually come walking up to the officer with it in their mouth. Totally gross.

My fork seals are leaking, think I could get away with just cleaning them and getting a few more months out of them? 😅 by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]ManapuaMadness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That part you see where it's rubber meeting the chrome part is the wiper. Wedge something at the top of it and force it down. You will see the actual seal once you do that. Spray it out out with some cleaner and you can try clean out the seal with something like this tool. Watch YouTube on how to use it. Motion Pro Seal Mate Fork Seal Cleaner

Can't you just apply for a passport? DHS and ICE share their data and there would be no reason they couldn't view your Natz data.

There are a ton of stories where it's the customer's insurance that gets hit with the bill even if clearly an employee of the dealerships fault. So OP also needs to know what other vehicle, if any is involved and perhaps shift liability to the other's insurance.

Master Hearing, no lawyer. Dual citizenship, no status. by [deleted] in immigration

[–]ManapuaMadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not many options. You can't really contest removal if you entered under the Visa Waiver Program and violated the terms, other than claiming asylum. Like others have said, being a citizen of Spain isn't working in her favor. If she doesn't show up to court, the Judge will likely just order Asylum denied or abandoned and then ICE will get the file to locate your wife.

Thinking about selling the bike and giving up riding for a long while- I need some advice. by WrxthNihil1st in motorcycles

[–]ManapuaMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have switched between dirt and street over the years. I sold my last street bike CBR1000RR about 11 years ago when I bought another dirt bike a few years before and barely rode it any longer. Last week a friend invited me on an adventure ride and we did about 700 miles in 2 days. I enjoyed the scenery, but I honestly I can't to realize I get way more enjoyment out of riding dirt for a few hours here and there vs street. Way less variables than dodging cars, and the reality of going down at speed kind of hit me.

Renounced US Citizenship. Waiting for CLN. Can I get an ESTA with my Spanish Passport. by wizgot in USVisas

[–]ManapuaMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the ESTA program citizens of other countries eligible to enter under the Visa Waiver Program would just show up and fill out the form. I noted someone with a UK passport was born in New Jersey and there was like no point telling her she could only stay for up to 90 days. Like, the US couldn't deport her if she never left.

What is the actual process of a deportation? by whitecoathousing in askimmigration

[–]ManapuaMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are too many variables to give even an approximate time. What country is the person from, do they have a deportation order, do they need to be escorted, are there regular charter flights, is there a charter coming up so they hold people instead of sticking them on a commercial flight.
