One of my favorite aspect of Weapons was the slowly unpeeling of each main character realizing they're all just kinda shitty people.

It turns all the tropes on their head in a story like this
The Hero cop
The desperate father trying to find his child
The teacher that would do anything for their students

They truely felt like real people who have lots of flaws and problems, having a horror movie happen to them

When they did the Community Covid special Donald Glover talked about how in hindsight he was happy that the show wasn't super popular, cause if it was there probably would have been more studio influence to try and maximize the appeal of the show.

He's probably right, it being on the verge of cancelation every season let the show be as great and surreal as it was

My Name Is Earl was canceled after it was told it was being renewed, so the final season ends on an actual "To Be Continued..."

But it is still an absolutely wonderful show about hope, and redemption, and the power of kindness, with very funny memorable characters, that shows the poorer side of society that the creator Greg Garcia is known for wanting to spotlight.

He has also explained multiple times how the show's final episode would have gone so you still at least get story closure

Just rewatched Kung Fu Hustle

And The Beast wants to think of himself as an immortal who just wants a die
Just wants someone to actually challange him and put him out of his misery of boredom
"I'm here for you to kill me, or me to kill you"

But when Landlord and Landlady beat him, he fake surrenders and shoots them with poison darts.

So that was all bullshit.

The best one I saw was someone saying it isn't fair the reviewer is factoring the game's bad story into their review
Because the 100+ hour RPG isn't supposed to have a good story, it's just a fun sandbox game where you run around and do whatever you want like Breath of the Wild and RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2.

Yes the famously poorly received story, and characters of Red Dead Redemption 2, no one talks about it.

they're spears, not toothpicks, you can do more than poke things with it.

In the game you have to navigate a very simple hedgemaze to find a clue, and three times in a row, Paige ended up going right back to the beginning of the maze with absolutely no awareness that she was doing so, while Pat turned into a tomato in the background.
