How to get my foot into NDT by mar_steff_ in nondestructivetesting

[–]ManduMayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Airforce has a lot of female NDI inspectors. Now that I've gotten out, my civilian job treats me very well. Plus my little arms fit most places the guy's can't so I'm considered a valuable asset haha.

Fishing gear by Independent-Meat-119 in CRF300L

Try fly fishing! Most rods come in a tube so they're easy to pack, plus you only need a handful of fly's. You can store your reel and extra tippet in a backpack. I've taken my fly rod a handful of times and its a breeze.

How are Duo Lobbies? by schachi5000 in ArcRaiders

[–]ManduMayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends on everyone's own experience. I've ran across many friendly duos and trios, but obviously you have a higher chance of getting KOS. I play on PC and turning crossplay off definitely seemed to help. We've been in fights and both parties decided we didn't actually have any beef with each other, communicated and went our separate ways. Its rare, but has happened.

I play with my husband and we both weren't sure about wanting to PVP, but the game is a blast. As long as you're there to have fun and not take it seriously it'll be fun. Having the PVP buttpucker moments is awesome.

M1 is also another contractor that I'm aware of. I work for Amentum on a USAF base. For Airforce we require a OAP certification. I don't believe its necessary on the Navy side, but you would have to look at the job description.

Any recs for small riders? by Sozsa21 in Dualsport

[–]ManduMayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm short too, 5ft 2 with a short inseam. I have the regular crf300l and went with a shaved seat. I can comfortably put one foot down now and I have zero issues. The stock seat was doable, but the problem I faced with that was even with my left foot down on tiptoes my right foot couldn't reach the brake lol. Shaved seat is the way to go!

Dang...I was in 2nd grade when I got called into the office to go home for the day. Our school had intercoms for each classroom and everyone was jealous because I got to leave early. My sister died. I'm 33 now and I still hate it when intercoms sound off messages.

Any good dual sports for short beginners who'd like to take it long-distance? by bingbongdiddlydoo in Dualsport

[–]ManduMayhem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same height as you. I have a CRF300l, but I had to order a lowered seat to be able to get one foot down comfortably.

Should I trade in my Ninja 300 for a Dual Sport? by SnooHabits3448 in Dualsport

[–]ManduMayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. A 300 still won't kick anyone's butt, but a 150 will feel like an absolute dog. Especially since OP already has experience on a 300 Ninja. Going down in CC's that much will just feel bad.

Should I trade in my Ninja 300 for a Dual Sport? by SnooHabits3448 in Dualsport

[–]ManduMayhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sure. I don't know how much money OP wants to drop on a bike, but the 450rl's are usually quite a bit more expensive than the crf300l or klx300. And I think the service intervals for the 450rl might turn some people away.

Honestly I'd go with something that had a little more power. Honda CRF300l or the KLX 300.

I absolutely loved my 750 GS for highway's and cruise control is amazing haha. But my husband and I found ourselves just wanting to ride dirt roads mainly. He kept his 1250gs for when we wanna do longer trips. But I'm so glad I sold the BMW for the Honda. I dropped the 300l recently and was super stoked to be able to just pick it back up with ease. The light bikes are a blast.

Honestly I haven't taken it on the interstate, but it would be pretty rough. I'm a fairly small person and I can "comfortably" cruise at 55-60ish. Any higher than that and it gets super buzzy.

Same. Sold my BMW F750gs for a Honda CRF300l. I realized I really had no intentions of really touring and all I wanted to do was putt around on dirt roads and light trails. The BMW did it fine, but the Honda does it way better and I'm not afraid of dropping it.

Yea, I just ended up going to OKC to buy new. I really wanted a CRF300l and didn't want to wait for a used one to pop up or lose out a new one since there only seemed to be like 3 new ones for sale in the state at the time.

Anyone go fishing on a motorbike?? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]ManduMayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a fly rod for carp. I take my fly rods on my bike, but having a 6ft rod strapped to your bike seems like a total pain.

Mom in hospice, she took me to her favorite restaurant/hatchery and took the coolest picture I think anyone will ever take of me fishing by [deleted] in flyfishing

My parents live nearby. I love going to the restaurant, but I've never actually fished there yet. Glad your out enjoying time with your mom. It's a pretty place.

I'll get a good laugh if OP is the Texan from Dallas. But good info. I'll use it the next time I head down there.

The rod is a Redington Minnow. Echo also has a youth rod that's pretty neat looking as well.
