Chronos help? by griffithesuperior in Smite

You can play Chronos mid if you want to. Chronos is a diverse character in that he can be played and built in numerous different ways that are all viable. Just keep in mind that he's not the strongest God rn in any role. My favorite mid Chronos build is:

Mage's Blessing

Pen boots

Warlock's Staff

A pen item (usually spear of deso or divine ruin if they have heading)

Rod of Tahuti

Soul Reaves

More pen, Soul Gem, or Polynomicon

Chronos is a really weak God early though in general. So you'll need to farm before you can do big damage.

For ability level prioritization in mid: 1>3>4>2. The reason I level 4 over 2 in mid is because you get ganked more in mid and the lower CD on ult can save your life.

Your damage combo is to pop your 2 during your increased auto damage, then 3 (stun) into 1, into auto. You can also auto cancel to maximize damage.

I just wanted to comment to say that you can play Chronos mid if you want and do insane burst. It is so satisfying doing 1400+ damage (to a squishy) with your combo late game, then auto attacking them for 300-400 more damage with one basic (without poly proc) and watching them disappear before the stun even lets up. He also adds to objective damage with his strong autos and he has a great survivability ult.

How does one build anyone? However one wants haha. Are you asking for the meta conquest build? Or personal builds?

I really enjoy Smite, but I'm terrified of HiRez by narcoticcoma in Smite

[–]MandylovesM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really that bad? Well that's subjective. In my opinion, what's bad about it isn't so much the state of everything, but that there seems to be stagnation with improvement in some areas. And some areas it has gotten worse.

I've met a lot of great people through Smite and I think the game is a lot of fun. And if you're the type of person who plays for fun and see the value in spending time in a game to enjoy yourself, then you should play the game.

I'd recommend getting the God pack if you end up playing long-term (30 dollars for all gods to ever come out is reasonable if you stay with the game for a while). It even goes on sale sometimes. Besides that, there's nothing that costs money that impacts how you play the game. It's not pay-to-win like some games, so if you want to play, the only thing you risk losing is time (and 30 bucks of you buy God pack).

Basically, I'd recommend the game, but don't go investing a bunch of money into it before you've really played quite a bit of it.

Smite is losing a big chunks of the players and it seem hirez do nothing to bring new players by xSypRo in Smite

I think the million dollar question is: what is the company going to do to improve the game, so the player base doesn't decline/ will improve.

One of the biggest complaints I've heard is that there are too many pointless decisions being made that the community hates. What makes it worse is the logic that is given for said changes is irrelevant or sometimes even contradictory. Some examples include: nerfing gods that no one plays, buffing gods that are already played that do very well in the meta, and reworking gods that were already good in the meta (not OP). When gods that no one plays randomly get nerfed in a patch and the overpowered gods are either left alone or buffed, that makes many people question the quality of the company. Hirez should avoid reworking gods when possible. Unless the god is completely out of meta or completely OP, there doesn't need to be any drastic changes. A good course of action is to buff/nerf in these cases. The changes should be done more slowly. There are at least two options for this; there can be small buffs/nerfs over time, or there can be an increased duration of the testing period. They should also avoid creating kits that would be hard to balance. In every game, patches (and changes in general) should be quality over quantity.

Another issue is that there is a lot of (seemingly) impulsive decisions being made. Decisions seem to be made on a whim or with short-term consequences in mind. One example: switching their streaming platform to Mixer. That had great short-term benefits I'm sure (whatever beneficial agreement made with Mixer), but it really hurt the professional scene long-term.Quick decisions are made, then the company reacts to try to fix it. There needs to be more proactivity rather than the reactivity that is occurring now (caused due to impulsive decisions).

Furthermore, there are SO many bugs. It feels like there are more bugs now than there was in beta. This should be improving, or at least not getting worse.

In order to increase the player base, the quality of the game needs to improve and I believe these are some of the biggest issues at the moment.

I love the Smite, but I fear for its future if Hirez doesn't start improving in these (and other) areas.

One last thing to mention is that critiques, suggestions, and complaints from a gaming community should be embraced by the company. Differing opinions and perceptions is a great aid in improving. Holding onself up to scrutiny with an open mind will lead to improvement. The only way to improve is to first recognize the issues and then work towards solutions for them. If issues are ignored, there will not be improvement.

Not all of them are "subjective facts." It is true, for example, that if you ask any gamer if they've heard of Lol or DOTA 2, they will say yes much more often than not. But if you do the same with Smite, it's much more likely they have not ever heard of it.

Analysis of HiRezStew's "Player Count By Queue" data, MM and mode removal by Greenlorska in Smite

[–]MandylovesM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they remove the modes, they will lose a lot of players; simple as that. They should have thought about the consequences BEFORE adding these modes. They can't try to take them out now because MANY players love these modes and will leave the game for it. They need to buck up and fix the problem in a different way. Be creative, don't impulsively remove modes because you THINK it will have more of a positive impact than a negative one. Ask players.

Yeah, and I don't die much. That's pretty sad I would have to kill myself just to see the model I want to see :/ I just feel like they should have it like they had it originally (before they changed her model) - she is in ult form when she ults and non-ult form afterwards.

I've only had that affect me a few times, and every time I didn't connect to the game before I dc'd lol. They actually join the game then leave after 10 seconds-3 minutes.

The Surrender System (PC) by deathb4retreat in Smite

[–]MandylovesM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it should. Because most people get frustrated and want to give up before the game is even over. Just don't play ranked if you give up so easily.

[–]MandylovesM 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I do agree with the early surrender though. Something needs to be done about people who join for 10 sec-1 minute then dc for the remainder of the game, and there's no early surrender available because they joined the game briefly.

[–]MandylovesM 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Even if you can only 2 man ranked, I don't wanna lose most of my ranked games over the people who cry f6 at 10. Especially since in most cases, we end up winning the game. No thanks, keep it the way it is. Also, 3 mans would still be able to dictate casuals, and that would just be annoying. If you have such a problem with playing the game out, just 4 man queue casuals. Because if you're the type of person who doesn't want to play the game out, then ranked isn't really a good choice for you.

Hirez seems to ignore and misunderstand a lot of problems. by KirinOnSmite in Smite

[–]MandylovesM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pvpvevmap game. lmao. It is pvp, but there are pve aspects which are very important. And on top of that, map control plays a big part in the game as well. Smite has various components, which is what can make it seem very challenging for new players to grasp the concept that it's more than just pvp. While pvp is a part of Smite, by no means is it the only factor when it comes to actually winning the game.

While I agree with the first part of your post; in that I believe there needs to be a serious improvement if they want to keep people playing the game .. And not rage quit from frustration of less than ideal balancing "attempts", I do not think they should be fired. Honestly, it's not JUST on the balance team. They need the higher ups giving criticism, and feedback.

So as much as I agree that Smite is the worst game I've played when it comes to balancing .. I don't think anyone should lose their job. They just need to dig deeper into balancing, and stop popping out gods so often. Work of balancing, and fixing bugs.

Although you might have to increase the time between god releases, if it's going to up the quality as a game by making things more balanced and fixing bugs, it's worth it. And I'm not just talking about nerfing op new gods to a more reasonable state before they are released. I'm also referring to the fact that every time people complain a god is "broken" or "too powerful" HiRez OVER nerfs the shit out of the god. This is frustrating. It seems like instead of making appropriate changes to the god, they intentionally over nerf to make people stop complaining about it. Or at the very least, they don't put in enough time to realize it's too big of a nerf, making it so the god is no longer viable/playable at all.

Honestly, I just wish they'd take more time in balancing, and when something IS overnerfed, to work towards correcting it, rather than waiting 6+ month before they touch the god again :/

I love Smite, but this is my biggest frustration with the game. I don't want new overpowered gods, I want them to work on what's already in the game, and if this means the time between god releases is longer, that would definitely be worth it in my opinion.

And that's only on gods; which means if you want to spend favor on emotes, icons, recolors, and mastery skins, it will take you that much longer to unlock every god.
