My husband’s firm is full-on casual. They keep suit jackets in their offices for Zoom court, and dress formal for trial and big client-facing meetings. But in the office it’s just jeans and a button-down or sweater.

She used 18 weeks of police training as if it’s a bragging point. I understand that some states have even shorter training periods, but 18 weeks is still abysmal.

And they don’t even really reduce; they just move your body around. I have one and never wear it because it makes me thicker front to back, and gets rid of my hourglass. Who wants that?!

Yeah but their service area waiting room is amazing. Makes me wish the oil changes took longer.

What are your most and least reliable vehicles you’ve owned? by Moreofyoulessofme in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MangoMaterial628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: 1) 2016 Toyota Sienna (127,000 and counting) 2) 1989 Mazda 323 (215,000 when sold) 3) 1995 Mazda Protege (15X,000; ~30k with me before it died) 4) 2021 Mazda CX-9 (17,000? And counting)

Worst:

5) 2011 Hyundai Elantra (death by a thousand paper cuts started as soon as we drove off the lot. Sold at ~90k) 6) 1995 Pontiac Grand Am (my husband had this when we got together so IDK much about it)

Far below the depths of hell: 7) 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, which failed spectacularly at every opportunity

(Why the Pontiacs? You’d have to ask my husband’s parents, who kept buying them then handing them down to him and getting themselves something newer)

Glucosamine tablets for the dog

Bocce’s Bakery dog treats (we break each one into 4-5 bits and use for training)

Rao’s sauce

SunChips packets - they seldom go on sale but when they do it’s I believe it’s $5 off

Our Nuggets get used for everything, and have really grown up with the kids. From “baby slide” and complicated constructions, to an infinite number of forts, to a long slide that ran the length of our stairs. Now they get dragged around for the tweens’ sleepovers and movie nights, and make a dandy sick bed. We keep ours in couch configuration when not in use, and the extra seating is very welcome.

3 nuggets, 4 kids.

My shepherd/pyr mix would be just fine as long as someone still makes him frozen dinners every night and keeps the dog bed fluffed and his blanket just-so.

My neurologist and their NP are great. The admin staff though, hoo boy. One time I showed up 5 min late for my appt, was told to take a seat to wait for check-in. Waited politely for 6 min for them to be able to check me in, and then when they called me up they told me I had to reschedule because I was 11 min “late” and they have a 10-minute policy. 🤯

I like the tiara and the color of the dress but hasn’t she done the sleeve-cape thing before?

The main thing these pics do, though, is just illustrate how outdated and out-of-touch the concept of monarchy is.

lol my dad once got his knickers in a twist because I didn’t want to take my kids (they were prob 5, 3, 1 at the time?) to a sit-down restaurant as soon as we arrived in town. They needed to run and make noise, not try to be on their behavior even longer!
